BA flights airborne tonight
Just browsing flight radar and there is a BA 747 outbound from Canada to Heathrow currently circling over the Isle of Man, did say on the news that there a a few flights but as of yet nowhere to land.
Also just seen a Lufthansa 747 around 37000ft above my house what a strange sight.
I can’t really buy into this notion that an aircraft being broken up is “sad”.
Let’s not forget this aircraft was 33 years old and will have flown an incomprehensible number of cycles. It’s a feat of engineering considering my TV will do well to last 5 years!
As a small child going to Manchester airport up on top of the piers I did see her a lot, then in the 80’s flew on her to Palma, so to reference the word sad is fair in my head.
Regardless of 33 years of service and possible incidents, I wasn’t refereing to that, just a sad sight being dismantled.
I guess a huge relief on Boeings part, and there customers are now looking forward to taking them onboard, looks fantastic as she rotated, congrats to Boeing
[QUOTE=LBARULES;1490827]There was an ‘issue’…. but it didn’t got LBA-MAN-BGI, it went straight to BGI from LBA.
The captain mentioned that the dely was due to a tech stop into Manchester from Leeds then over to Bridgetown. Also the dept board did show Leeds/Manchester when it arrived. God only knows what went wrong but got us back safe and sound.
Just to add to this, I flew back on this tcook A330 today from bridgetown to Man. Were were 2 hours late leaving due to an issue at leeds so we were informed, it went from leeds to man then out to Bridgetown.
Good flight bit bumpey for around 2 hours, jetlagged now having been up for 24 hours.

There is always one, isn’t there? Wilag, it is a lighthearted and original take on a very boring part of the flight, the safety briefing. I am all for it, if it means more people will pay attention.
Only stating what I think must people would think Mr, Imagine you have never been on this Airline and the first thing you saw, which I must stress is a very important message “SAFTEY” done by a load of ankle bitters, umm not very good is it!
I can see where they are coming from with this, but on the other hand this is terrible, not only are kids telling you about safety onboard and what to do should such an emergency occur, but also the language of that particular child seemed of very poor English, I can imagine that over the PA system being dreadfully hard to understand.
To me this is a very unproffisoanl approach, and is not what I deem to be good culture of a large Airline like Thomsonfly, or there again is it more cost cutting, kids are cheaper that adults, disgraceful.
Thanks for the info chaps, look like we will have to get there 4 hours before to secure seats together.
Also as these are all ex My travel/airtours 330s are these the ones with the toilets downstairs, or has this now been removed, as didnt Tcook take a new build 330 last year?.
Thanks cloud9 for the reply, I see where you are coming from but you would still think that tcook would allow you to book if not only to make a bit of extra revenue for them, regardless who the aircraft is charted to, I also did ask about the premium section and again they said that no bookings are being taken for any seats, so I guess if you get these than you have struck lucky.
Guess we will have to turn up and early and see what’s what, but there again It isn’t uncommon that airlines pre allocate your seats well in advance of you checking in, this happen last year with Thomsonfly.

Commercial aviation?
Hmmm?
Didn’t think I would get the correct response on the military forum, hence why I posted here, due to the fact they were around Mcr Airport flight path I thought some of the airport locals might of known about there presence.
Consider my wrist slapped, feel free to move if you wish.
Yep same as us, fly out on friday but dont sail till saturday, cool not often you get an over night stay, other issue trying to book seats together but unable as it’s not through Thomas Cook apose to being a P&O trip, how blommin silly, I do believe it’s an A330 we are on.
Thanks for the info chaps, not really to bothered if it’s a tad quite, just to be on the beach after wanting to go there for many a year will do for me.
Just need to find a good seat to book now on the Thomas Cook A330 flight out to Barbados, any suggestions?
Andy
