Oak trees do not have acorns until they are fifty years old or older.

When opossums are playing ‘possum, they are not “playing.” They actually pass out from sheer terror.

The annual harvest of an entire coffee tree is required to make 1 pound of ground coffee.

Studies show that if a cat falls off the 7th floor of a building, it has about 30% less chance of surviving than a cat that falls off the 20th floor. It supposedly takes about eight floors for the cat to realise what is occurring, relax and correct itself.

It takes about 4 pounds of grapes to produce a single pound of raisins.

It took 1,175 animators working in Disney studios in Burbank, California, Orlando, Florida, and Paris, France to complete the animated Tarzan. Because of the time differences, production was able to occur around the clock for more than three years

why would they need better access to european destinations?

I’m sure with there ONEworld partners they cover all points within europe?

I’m sure the average australian wouldnt mind a 1-2hr flight from LHR to major european destinations on a ONEworld partner flight?, seeings the average flight time from Sydney to Darwin is the same as a London-New York flight?

Easyjet and Ryanair are doing it all right. They dont impose a fuel charge, they get all the positive publicity out of not doing so against BA which helps their appeal in the eyes of the public.

Then, to fund the defecit in profits due to fuel costs they just adjust their yield management systems to make them a bit more money on the late booking fares, and make more money out of that.

Of course theres no way of actually proving thats their strategy, but I’d be very surprised if it wasn’t.

You really think Easyjet or Ryanair dont incl a fuel levy???

Somewhere along the line its probably hidden in there charges etc etc, Credit card,Wheelchair (in the case of Ryanair) and all other costs in the “Extra’s”

They just dont choose to say it’s a fuel levy because it would be bad Press and would loose amunition against national/legacy carriers on imposing a fuel surcharge.

FYI. Ryanair has included an extra charge for wheelchair(which is supplied by handling comps) usage at airports, according to the book i have read on Ryanair, MOL was totally against it because it would be discrimination, untill he heard it would raise another £25-30million in revenue and improve the bottom line

Quelle surprise! That the currency its bought in, which coincidentally also makes airlines vulnerable to the cost of the dollar! :p

PS: Why not ask Mr.Alpha-One – I’m sure he’ll have taken that into consideration as part of the financial planning for his airline! 😉

Perhaps not everybody knows that Jet A1 is bought in $US (like me), But i dont think there was any need for the arrogance or smug-ness in your answer! 😡

i found a website with the average Jet A fuel prices on, but it is costed out in $US.

Average Cost is $3.13 a Gallon.

But im not sure this price would be relative if an airline has aquired its fuel for the next year at a specific price or is buying on an open market.

I phoned up BP,Shell and Total about Jet A prices, and they were all a little cagey about giving prices out, and i got put on hold alot.
