I agree, it’s easy for us enthusiasts to criticise, but I really can’t blame the public at large for being panicked at the sight of fuel leaking from the wings.

Of course we may also wish to apportion blame for this apparent mass hysteria at the doorsteps of the movie industry that produces sensational aviation disaster movies, and the news media for producing sensational aviation disaster stories as well?

As for Phuket suggesting sueing their own passengers…? If I was one and it came to choosing them as my next Thailand carrier, I’d say Phuket !!!

Just to add to that…Listening to BBC Radio 5, and a passenger who arrived back on the delayed flight this evening reported that… ” We were told if we didnt fly back with the airline, then we would have to pay for the overnight accomadation in Dubai..(sorry cant spell SharJar)”

It may have been mentioned, but why should i pay i wheelchair surcharge on Ryanair, when i dont need one!!!!!!!!!!!
If they are going to charge me for it, i would like to see it broken down into the pricing, but if not…… then i will have a wheelchair to the departure gate and arrival gate please!!!

N.B. Acording to the Ryanair book, charging everybody a “surcharge” for use of a wheelchair, will net Ryanair another £30million profit per year…or course thats based on 2 years ago passenger numbers

If there is an FS2006, i think, some other commercial airliners should be avail, instead of the bog standard Boeing 737,747 and 777, how about the Airbus A320 family or Bombardier Q series Turboprops?

So theoretically, Lufthansa/Swiss could hand back the £50million and request those slots back?

New York La Guardia operates the same kind of setup, but i think it’s dependant on what runways JFK is using, and possibly Newark too from what i remember on a programme about it on National Geographic
