    Hmmm

Now i’m sure the ad agency that silverjet uses has alot of £500 an hour lawyers to make sure it doesn’t infringe on any copywrite issues

Because that ad, cuts in very close to the original British Airways Advert, and being of the generation that remembers the original adverts like alot of business or retired types with a generous expense accounts or disposable incomes respectivly, then it would probably have the opposite effect of what silver jet is trying to establish!!!!

My thinking is…..A new start up airline with 1 plane or an airline that has a proven business track record and in the worlds top 10 as the most profitable …..hmmmmm only one airline to go with.

Sorry Silverjet….Try something new and more ingenious!!!!!!!!

I can see the A380 going on JNB route as it is always fully booked and slots are hard to come by at JNB as BA are trying to get some extra slots through their franchise partner comair

That “old” livery isn’t very old. I seem to remember it only being on their fleet for a few years.

    A bit of background….
When I was a journalist in Texas I had a front row seat to the “scandal”. Rather let his enthusiasm for getting a story stand in the way of solid reporting and fact checking. He reported that (later proven to be fasified) ANG records were fact. They were given to him by a former NG administrative officer (not in Bush’s chain of command or unit) who had a long time hatred of Bush. (My station had video from long before this story broke where the guys eyes were popping of of his sockets when talking about Bush…he was not a fan. Six months later, these “records” appear. It’s basic journalism that you don’t accept politically damning documents from an opponent/critic without making 100% sure they’re authentic.)

Just yesterday Rather filed a $70 million lawsuit with CBS saying he was made a scapegoat after their internal report said he errored and was forced to step down as head newsreader.
    He later retired.
CBS admitted to sloppy reporting but it’s internal investigation found no proof that it was politically motivated (it just happened to be a month before an election  ).

Looks like Dan imay be up to his old tricks…taking a fired employee and holding him up as the only one in the company (or the FAA…or the international aerospace community) that knows anything or has a conscience.

I’m no expert, but don’t carbon fibre F1 cars do okay in crashes?

Yes F1 cars do survive crashes and all new cars have to go through rigorous crash testing befor being approved by the FIA.

    As a foot note.

The highest G-Force ever survived in a F1 car is an estimated 178G after the car came to a complete stop from 176Kph in a distance of 66Cm. The driver sustained multiple fractures to his legs, ribs and pelvis, but survived and continues to race today in lower class competition

So far, I only own 1 add-on for FSX given the short time since my upgrade, which is Just Flight’s A340-500/600 which to be honest, I’m not particularly happy with as it has a few issues. These include the MFD’s being blank in VC, but functioning in 2D Panel mode and no sound in the external views to name but two. Can’t say I’d recommend it.

Back to the point though, add on aircraft for FSX are a bit thin on the ground as it stands, although an absolute corker, Level-D’s awesome 767-300ER, was just recently patched for FSX compatibility. A few others like PMDG’s 737 NGX and 747X are also on the way too. But what I’d like to see are some decent 777 and A330 packages for FSX, but I’m not aware of any in the pipeline as it stands.

Level D has just released a FSX version of its mighty impressive 767-300

PMDG has announed a FSX version of its 747-400 and Queen of the Sky’s (Freighter Version) it is also developing a A320 plane for FSX only, which is due in the 18 months/2 years

Of course this should all be “allegedly” otherwise the forum will be in all sorts of legal problems…….

The noise on rotation sounds like vibrations from the landing gear.

I’m sure a pro pilot could answer it better, but i believe there is a washer that helps keep the wheels in allignment on the bogey’s, and when that gets worn, you get vibrations. I believe the part only costs about $1 each, but sounds alot more serious than it actually is.

I stand by to be proven completely wrong 😀

From what i have found out…

When the new Airbus’s are delivered, they will go straight to Heathrow.

The LGW operation, will get the oldest of the A319’s at LHR, when the new bus’s arrive from Toulouse.

Not to be nasty but I don’t think anyone is going to take a freewebs URL seriously, specially when theres already a BA virtual that is awesome.

    http://www.bavirtual.co.uk/

    Good luck though.

i would second that….. bavirtual is top notch, with excellent training aids and support, but the most important thing……..Endorsement and approval from British Airways.
