Thanks everyone for your comments, I know what you mean Phil, the weather on Thursday was cracking…but work won on that day! Marra123, I have no idea why this airframe was at Bristol, I have seen the SAAB 2000 in the Aberdeen scheme at Bristol also, maybe Bristol will get its own Eastern scheme.
All the best

Absolutley stunning shots Manc, the AA T7 with the piano keys reflecting on the underside is great.

Kevin,
The first Q400 shot is cracking, well done.

Thanks for the comments guys, I was shooting using Av mode f5.6 which for the lens I was using (USM 100-300 IS) is the widest aperture, I guess I am trying to concentrate on the jet with a sharp background too much. It just seems to be producing quite dark shots even at that aperture. I am off to the airport again tomorrow and will try with my other 28-135 lens. Thanks again everyone, I really apprecaite the advice.

Is the Icelandic F50 a scheduled visitor to Glasgow? Nice shots.

Andreas,
Cracking shots, I am a bit of a sucker for the close up detail shots.

Condolences to Richard’s family.
Gary,
It should not be a problem; I recently flew to Toulouse with my airband radio in my hand luggage and was not stopped.

Hi,
The money comes from to fast dwindling pot of gold at the end of the rainbow….no really it is a combined budget with the various arms of the forces bidding for money to pay for upkeep, new equipment etc. They usually are allocated a certain amount of dosh to do everything for the financial year and how the individual arms divi it up again depends on the requiremet at the time. The need for say an RFA comes from a decsion based on the requiremt of the forces. It is usually based on future rather than current tasking. For instance the Type 23 was designed for blue water asw ops so the requirement for the RFA was to design and build a ship that would support the 23 for up to xxx days, including ammunition, food, general stores and a facility to support the Merlin helicopter……as so the AOR was born (Fort Victoria / George). Today the requirement has change and we have moved from blue water ops to littoral, and provide a greater support to our troops ashore (amphibious role) and so to optimise the reqirement we need to build ships that can operate in hot/cold regions, accomodate, deploy, support and sustain, provide other roles such as mass evacuation etc, and so LSD(A) was born, and so on.
Hope this helps in some way
Regards.
Like the patchwork DLH A320, I didn’t realise that the Falcon had a reverse thrust bucket on only one engine, or can it select either the 2 outboard engines and the rear engine seperatly.
Well done on braving the weather!

Neil,
I am off to Miami on the 31st on business and flying premium economy, the seats are slighlty wider but the aircraft on the MIA route are A340-600 so unsure if they are the same size at the 744 seats.

Great shots Robert, I think India Fox is a Bristol based 319?

In my previous job one of my team was from St Vincent, he had a family berevment so I offered to book his flights for him to go home, which I did however I booked him 1st class on AJM to KINGSTON Jamaica instead of KINGSTOWN, St Vincent……doooo!
Luke,
Was browsing the PPrune website and saw your posting; I followed some of the threads and found that someone else is going to the same interview, here is the thread if you want to contact them, might be good to get to know someone before you turn up and to share your concerns etc.
All the very best mate for the 10th, I wish you well.
