That’s what I love about this forum, so many intelligent people. I feel very fortunate that I can be lazy and just sit back and soak all this knowledge in. 😀
Cheers, to aviation historians everywhere!
Steve
OK, who took Andy’s medication? Come on, give it back! See what you’ve made the poor boy say!!!
Sorry Andy, but you’re dead wrong on this one. Anything that has survived to this point is worth restoration. Now, the funds may not be available for everything to be restored, and certainly expert historians should choose the order of priority, but if our governments and military don’t preserve types like these, well then who is going to? I mean it’s not like every warbird pilot in the world is going to want to fly around in a Halifax, is it? So, all the more reason why they should be saved.
Now you boys play nice. This isn’t GD.
There was mention of this in a book I read last year –
We know Dave you’re just saying that to impress Mike. 😀
Never. It’s the most expensive insurance you could ever purchase, and a huge profit center for the merchant.
I’d like to be the observer at Duxford who sounds the air raid siren.
Just always wanted to try one of those…
Of course, after I sound the alarm, I’m going to go and find Susannah in a nice little foxhole.
Great, now I’ve got a paint scheme and nose art…all I need is the Spitfire!
Ok, I give up…won’t learn a new language or anything new about the world, will just remain a closed-minded American stuck in our own conceited ways, buggar all the world and the hell with you lot…some of you really are impossible to work with or learn anything from….no wonder the Welsh are constantly pissed at you and snigger on behind your backs….
M
GOOD. Now that that’s settled, anyone care to discuss naked women?
Oh gawd, we’re not on THAT again…
If you want to learn a dead language try Latin. At least you’ll be able to read what’s on the back of a dollar bill, as opposed to some road sign outside Cardiff.
My guess is that this is probably a stencil application for the background color. After that was applied the squadron “artist” probably would do his work. This is just a guess, though.
Love the name, BTW.
Patty
Snapper, what would I do without you…:)
That’s three names then. Oh, plus Robbo’s Wife…..
Any more skeletons in your closet?
“Oooooh, who’s a clever boy!!!”
If you ever need a pilot, drop me a line. Have high performance (-ish) taildragger rating. Will travel.
Regards,
Galdri😀 😀 😀
You know, you’re the first person to ever ask me that 😉
Hi Mark,
Joe didn’t fly out of Breckenridge, but went direct from Denver to Reno and back. Hopefully next year his Sea Fury will be back in operation.
Steve
😎 😎 Well 😉 😉 Heres to more WRAP :dev2: Anna 😉 :diablo: :diablo:
Once again, dear Anna, you have me swimming in a sea of confusion…
More Reno Photos
Here are some more photos from the flight to Reno from Breckenridge. Photographer Steve Dickey was in the backseat of Stew Dawson’s Sea Fury “Spirit of Texas”.
Thanks Steve, this is the only air-to-air shot I have of the Sea Fury!
