Hmmmm, has anyone seen mexicanbob? Anyone? Anyone?

    No?

    Do you know why???

CAUSE HE’S IN PRISON. Uncle Sam gets upset when you start borrowing his toys.

… we want to see you in the seat on the other side of the barrier with the winnebago sized picnic hamper for us to steal from.

Don’t look at me, it’s Mrs. Andy who packed all the goodies. 😉

That’s the one. My thanks to the pilot, Cody Welch, for showing me this wonderful airplane. Also, it’s a requirement to fly with your elbow out the side window (just because you can).

There’s a nice shot of this plane on the cover of Flying magazine this month (and if you look hard enough you can just see a desert camo L-39 on the OSH ramp below :)).

PS Still looking for Andy. Last reports had him reliving the War of 1812 somewhere on the East Coast.

A most unfortunate accident, and my prayers for all the injured in the plane and on the ground.

I had the opportunity to fly right seat in the EAA’s Tri-Motor this weekend, as it was making it’s final stop on the summer tour before returning to Oshkosh. It is a wonderful airplane, with a rich history, and a joy to fly.

Hopefully those affected by this terrible accident will recover quickly.

There is at least one Steve in the photo, though. As far as Hollywood is concerned, that’s close enough.

Thanks for those kind words, Peter. All I can say is that it was a true pleasure to finally meet you and Nicky, and Allison and I very much enjoyed your company and your friendship. I’m sorry the weather didn’t cooperate more, but the hospitality (and wine) of the Breitling tent at least took some of the sting out.

Let’s not wait a year to get together again. Oh, and thanks again for my hat. Now I have one without flowers.

    Best wishes,

    Steve & Allison

OK, seeing as you’ve all uncovered my deep dark secret I might as well come clean. I’m a warbird morris dancer pilot. There, I’ve said it. Wew, glad I got that off my chest.

Oh, and Melv is a wannabe Rearwin Cloudster Morris Dancer, too.

Now leave us alone in the privacy of the internet.

Cheers, and the first dance is on me!

OK OK, enough about this Morris Dancing thing. I want it understood right now that Melv and I will not appear for anything less that 100 quid. Period. Otherwise the flowery hats stay in the closet.

You decide…Are you ready for some folk dancing??? Let’s rock!

Shall we call this one quits before Steve has a complete sense of humour failure?

Well yes, but I didn’t add 5 stone to the poor bloke.

And as for JDK, well, we did FIND him after all.
