    Oops… :p

    http://www.web-wings.co.uk/fr/KLM742.jpg

After departure from Aruba, this KLM 747 (heading for Saint Maarten and then Amsterdam) lost altitude and fell into the sea.

    More great shots everybody! 🙂

Here’s my favourite aircraft to date after departure from Guangzhou.

It is a complete package from Avsim.com. Just search for Orient Thai. I’ve also downloaded a panel and 40mb worth of classic 747 sounds to make this as realistic as possible.

As for large screenshots, I play flight simulator by having maximum screen resolutions and then shrinking the image to 800 x 600 in Photoshop.

Unless of course it gets frustating, like it has for me.

I just can’t land anything, so I’m selling it. Anyone interested?

I think you’ll regret it if you sell it. There are so many great tutorials available on the Internet and they can teach you how to use the ILS for perfect landings every time.

Download some charts from FSCharts.com and start doing your homework 😉

    Which sim to buy?

In my opinion, like adamdowley has said, it would have to be FS2004. You need only to buy that and a joystick and then take advantage of the thousands of free add-ons available, whether it be scenery or aircraft.

In the screenshot thread, all bar a few of the shots feature scenery and aircraft that are free for download.

Once you start, there will be no stopping you.

That’s the way I play it. That’s how I flew my Singapore to Heathrow flight a few weeks back anyway.

Excellent report and even better photos! 🙂

LOL 😮 LH seem to be like KLM, they don’t do day-trips, otherwise you have to pay mega-bucks, which is highly irritating!

Lufthansa can do day trips – unlike KLM. Can I suggest not booking direct with Lufthansa for your Frankfurt flights. I mentioned in another thread that Lufthansa recently had a seat sale with day returns for just £67 including inflight service. By the time I was ready to book up, I had missed it and Lufthansa were quoting more than £320 for the same ticket on just about any other day. Rather unusually, booking with ebookers.com was cheaper. They were (and in fact, still are) offering £77 return trips. And the outward trip is on the A300 at about 9.00am.

Nice brief report. Wasn’t aware that Britannia/Thomson had self check-in facilities for passengers.

Last year, I disembarked a Thai 747 used steps and then earlier this year, boarded an EVA 747 using steps. I’m more a fan of the airbridges – they feel a little sturdier! 🙂

When I can find the time, I’m going to, fly Hong Kong to Bangkok in real time. It’s a mere 2 hours flying time and a route operated by Orient Thai Airlines. Incidentally, I found a great Orient Thai 747-200 aircraft on Avsim.com tonight (model by POSKY).

Here are a few shots of the first 30 minutes of the flight. Saved it for now and will continue it another time! 😀

What version of FS are you using?

What weight are you landing at? (approx. fuel percentage & loads)

    Its FS2004.

But now you mention loads, I think that is going to be the problem. I’ll try another quick flight and report back in a little while. 🙂

First ‘batch’ of screenshots from me for a while, so here goes…

The 767 makes a hard landing creating lots of smoke. It then lifts back into the air by a few feet before returning to earth!

I’ve been quite busy recently so have had little time for Flight Simulator. When I do manage to get on it, its literally mucking around with a few takeoffs and then landing back at the same airport I departed from about 15 minutes later.

Here’s an easyJet 737 departing Athens with a Thai 777 parked up behind. 🙂

Lots of great additions since my last check of this thread. In particular, the British Airways 757-200 “Blue Peter” and the 737s of Bahamasair and Jet2.

I was hoping to bring you some shots of my visual approach into Gibraltar using a British Airways 757. The weather was very poor and lots of strong winds, but all didn’t go according to plan. I seemed to be just a little too high on the approach and so I slowed down to a safe speed and in order to lose a little altitude, but as I got closer, the aircraft stalled and literally dropped onto the runway. Its being evacuated as we speak.

My first crash in a while. Mind you, visual approaches aren’t my speciality. 😮

P.S. Did you have any strange woman singing to you – and then ask for money??

Ha! Fortunately not. I expect I would have giggled to myself anyway, like I usually do. My leftover coins went into a little charity envelope on the flight home.
