Oh boo hoo

I got a 3 pack Ploughmans Sandwich, a 750ml bottle of sprite and a twix for under £5 before my Newark flight @ EDI. Not all that ridiculous. The same thing (A drifter instead of a Twix though) cost me £7!!! at a petrol garage yesterday.

Anyway, there are people in the world that are lucky to get a meal once a day let alone ever 2 or 3 hours.

That’s anything but reasonable value. £5 for a bar of chocolate, a cheese and pickle sandwich and bottled water.

I don’t suppose you have tried buying a meal at my local airport – have you? London Heathrow is beyond a joke when it comes to finding something nice to eat for a fair price. You can choose from a bagel with some disgusting filling for somewhere in the region of £3-£4 or you can splash out loads more at the seafood bar. McDonald’s and Burger King don’t exist and there is no such thing as a £3 sandwich meal deal (T3).

And, at the end of the day, because you don’t want a meal, thats not to say that people like me don’t either.

As sorry as I feel for the starving people in Africa, there is little I can do about it, but to offer my support through regularly donating money to charities and organisations such as Oxfam. If you’re so concerned, I would urge you to do the same… http://www.oxfam.org.uk/

That’s the Antonov AN-124. It’s a massive, Russian-built aircraft. Not as big as its bigger sister, the AN-225 though!

Not everyone is entirely happy to fork out the ridiculous costs for food and drink at an airport. So, a flight of less than than three hours plus the check-in time of approximately 2 hours, means that someone will be without something to eat for more than 5 hours.

I had a friend who recently flew Air Europa from LGW-PMI. All she got for her fare was a seat… nothing else.
