Excellent report, that pretty much sums it all up!
Was indeed an excellent day, so thanks very much to both of you.
As for bmi British Midland, I think for £54 return, we got value for money. Obviously the delays were not their fault and they handled the situation as efficiently as possible. We had the same aircraft each way (A321 G-MIDK) and inside it was very clean. A snack included on both trips, as well as drinks.
Very impressed and will stick to bmi and the Star Alliance in future!
Excellent photos!
You forgot to mention that Andy took a tumble, too! 😉
Anyway, just sorting through mine now. They won’t be of that quality, but they look alright. Will also post a BMI flight review a little later. Nice flights, but tense times in the departure lounge, waiting to hear if BMI cancelled our flight as well as the other 6 at the time!
As mark said, we arrived about an hour and a half late and we are currently at GLA for our 19.35hrs flight, now due for arrival at LHR at 22.15hrs.
bmi cancelled 5 domestic flights this morning to Teesside, Glasgow, Leeds etc.
Will post piccies and report tomorrow! Cya!
Sounds good, but who wants to fly Aeroflot?
A huge congratulations, Kabir! Keep up the excellent work!
Perhaps the obvious codes for Teesside (e.g. TEE or TSD) have been taken by other airports.
TEE is Tbessa (?)
TSD is Tshipise (?)
And as for Malaga, it’s the same sort of problem. MAL is Mangole and MLG is Malang.
You can see plenty of the TU-154 in this rarther attractive DVD… 🙂
Would its attractiveness have anything to do with the photograph on the front? Taken by a certain forum member if I am not mistaken 😉
Superb photographs.. well done!
Am I imagining things, or did Herpa also do a JMC A320?
Herpa did make a limited edition A320 in the JMC Air colours. It was on a 1/500 scale and certainly not something you would want in your collection. Because of it’s size, the quality and detail was very poor. It also had out-of-scale, chunky wheels on it. More of a toy than a collector’s item.
Also, Gemini Jets do make an Air 2000 757-200, one of which is up for sale on ebay.co.uk at the moment for £14.99. Get it on ebay.com for about £6.00.
Here is the Gemini Jets DC-10, registration G-LYON. I bought this one because I flew on it nearly four years ago. This is also the aircraft that was pictured on the cover of Airliner World’s September 2000 edition!
A top selection of models as well, Andrew! 🙂
Like this one perchance…. ? 😀
Yes indeed, that’s the one! How much did you pay for it?
That United DC-10 you have pictured.. I have just bought a 747-100 in those colours, made by Dragon Wings. Cost me a mere £4.04 and it’s brand new. At that price, you can’t leave it!
Biarritz?
I wouldn’t fly Oneworld normally
Good taste.. stick with Star! 😀
Of course. I wasn’t suggesting that you even try searching for an alternative airline. It’s just that package holidays are extremely overpriced as it is, and charter airlines see it fit to add about £300 (??) on top of the price to treat you like any other airline would anyway.
It may sound a bit rude, but you’re paying the extra to get service that real airlines offer you anyway.
Rather than getting a few centimetres of legroom, you get what most airlines offer anyway.
Free drinks, again, are included in the price with other airlines.
etc etc
