I tried TWA when they were around (at Heathrow) who didn’t do work experience and also British Airways, asking if they could offer me anything for a week.

Although I planned it 10 months in advance, they told me that their spaces were reserved for people living closer to the airport. I felt that if I was willing to make the effort to get there and was interested by it all, did it matter about how far I was from the airport? It would have taken 25 minutes by car.

In the end, I went to ntl’s old Head Office down the road. I was meant to be doing something IT related, but ended up going out with technicians. My God, did that week drag?

Great photos, Britania. Are we able to make multiple non-url attachments per post now?

Looks like we can upload up to 5 attachments with each post. 😉

In which case you quote the law that they have no rights to move you off open or public land. Only once your on BAA property can they do something.

Precisely. On the grassy patch at Myrtle Avenue, you are at the heart of the action but using public land. Excellent views of arriving traffic on 27L. 😎

    A good idea.

Such a good idea in fact that I have already clinged onto it and already have more than 80 reviews at web-wings.co.uk

Anyone who wants to submit a review, feel free to use the links in my signature 😉

It was 107F yesterday here in Chino. Highest temperature of any city in the United States for the day.

We reached nearly 70F here in the UK a couple of days ago. Give it a few weeks and we’ll be hitting 80F! :p

Hopefully, I’ll be there as well. I get so angry when on one of my very few days off, everything is ruined by the weather! All the wonderful sunshine over the past week or so… and now this!

Excellent prices! You can be sure to get at least one 737-200 with Ryanair!

Would have been good, but it’s a Saturday and weekends are just awful for me!

    Excellent news.

It was bound to happen sooner or later. I don’t know how often the charter services from Gatwick to Phuket are, but they can’t be more frequent than weekly, so a new 2 or 3 times weekly service would be excellent.

I was questioning whether Phuket Airlines launching this service may eliminate the need for charter aircraft flying the same route. Holidaymakers could fly with Phuket Airlines.

The 747-300 should be an ex-KLM aircraft if I am not mistaken. 😉

    Excellent models.

I received a model yesterday – A Thai Airways 747-400 in the Royal Barge colour scheme. It is ‘Tucano Line’ and the quality and detail of the model is brilliant, especially when you consider it is 1/500.

I have also got the Thai Md-11 on its way to me from Bangkok. This is a 1/400. I’m aiming to collect the entire Thai Airways fleet on a 1/400 scale and so far have the 777-300, 747-300, 747-400, classic 737-200 (limited edition of 750) and the Md-11. I don’t think anyone makes the ATRs or the 737-400s in service with the airline.

Here’s some photos. First one is HS-TGJ on its own and the second is HS-TGJ alongside Orient Thai 747-200 HS-UTP. Both are 1/500s.

I imagine it would take a couple of hours at least, and i’d have to change trains at Leeds from Bradford and would probably end up quite expensive, and then i’d have to get the train from the station to the airport!

Should come to LBA 🙂 £21.00 each way plus taxes with BMi from LHR in August 😀

You got a really good deal on those flights.

Taxes are practically £30, so a return flight to LBA would cost in excess of £70! We could have gotten the flight £3 cheaper if we had flown at about 6.00am in the morning. We have opted for the 8.50am departure which cost that little bit extra. Hopefully I can get to the airport by 7.00am! :p

How much were the flights? I fancy it but just looked at BMi LBA-GLA-LBA on that day.. Not going at £187.20!

    Hi LBARULES,

We got a fair deal with bmi at £54.40 return (each). We get a meal on the flight and I get a few miles on my Thai Royal Orchid Plus account, so not bad at all.

Is it far by train? I wouldn’t have a clue!

World’s busiest INTERNATIONAL Airport, actually. Busiest overall, in terms of pax, is still ATL, by a decent margin.

By the way, what does the little red and white “flood-like” triangle on the upper right hand corner of each post (except mine) represent?

    Hover your cursor over it.

You can click it to report an obscene post.
