Thanks again, it’s a finePix S3000. This is my first picture that I got the aircraft in the middle of the photo, I normaly miss of the nose :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

Britannia, you and I have the same camera. It took me almost 8 months to figure out how to use it as best as I could.

Point the camera at the moving aircraft and push the button down half way (and hold it). You can move the camera about to catch up with the moving aircraft and once satisfied, push the button all the way and it captures it quite nicely, allowing you to get even closer.

There’s not been any mention of the Barcelona meet, so I’m not sure if that is still going ahead or not.

As for other, more local meets, obviously the new flight in my signature was booked last night. A330Crazy and I are going to Glasgow on Thursday 3rd June for the day – arriving 10.00am and leaving about 7.30pm, so would be great to see lots of you there.

I’m keen to make a trip to Cologne in the next few months. Germanwings fly form London Gatwick and providing you book early enough, you can secure a return ticket on their A319s for less than £30.

I’m certainly up for LHR and possibly LGW meets over the summer period. 🙂

BAA.co.uk does show most codeshare services. Either that or it’s just pure coincidence that three completely different airlines fly from Edinburgh to Heathrow and depart and arrive at exactly the same time.

Was quite surprised by my Thai flight last week from Bangkok to London Heathrow. When we boarded the aircraft in Thailand, the screen said it was a codeshare with Air Canada and United Airlines. However, baa.co.uk displayed it only as TG917 and not the other two flight numbers.

I very rarely take a photograph with which I am proud. I think this one is not so much my favourite, but one of my more popular ones on JetPhotos.net

I would say “Guess the Airport”, but I think I’d be insulting your intelligence if I did. Thai Airways HS-TGZ landing at Bangkok. To the bottom right of the screen you can see the start of the golf course which lies between the two runways at Bangkok.

Excellent photographs. There are three shots of G-BNGT on Airliners.net which are worth a look. 2 of them have had 2,000 views, so they must be quite special!

Florence is a nice one to see on there. I know that Meridiana fly there from London Gatwick, but the prices aren’t so great.

Overall, a nice selection of routes, but surely they’re taking on a bit too much at once with a fleet of just four aircraft?

Thanks for the reply. I did fill out one of their surveys on the aircraft and forgot to hand it to the crew. As a a result, I would now have to post it back to Thailand. I’ll browse the website and find an email address to contact them.

I’m fed up.

I’ve just had a four week holiday and had a chance to relax and get away from college and work and the stress that they each entail. Never did I think that upon my return to the UK, this forum would be the start of more stress.

Posts like this are annoying me. Quit stating the obvious. We all know just how pathetic this forum is at the moment.

But what annoys me is not so much the fact that several silly topics are being created every night, but the fact that the ‘good’ topics are being overseen and drowned out by the off-topic posts.

I spent an hour writing an in-depth flight review from my recent Thai Airways flights (LHR-BKK-LHR) and also uploaded photographs. My reviews have been popular in the past and I had assumed they would be just as popular now… but how wrong was I? Within 2 or 3 hours of posting, only a couple of people had noticed it and taken the time to respond and it was on the second page of the forum. I could accept how unsuccessful my post was if there were better topics for people to read. But if any of you believe that reading about petty squabbles is more exciting than something like my post, I suggest you leave. You’re certainly not the type of people that I especially, want on this forum.

You’ll not need to take malaria tablets. I know that no vaccinations are compulsory unless you plan on visiting the extremely remote areas of the country. Yellow fever is required if you are arriving in Thailand from an infected country. If this is the case, you will be required to show a certificate. I had my yellow fever two years ago after visiting Costa Rica, but it’s not too easy to get hold of. It has to be used within days of being manufactured, so most surgeries don’t stock it.

The weather is ‘tropical’ and all year round you are guaranteed sunshine whenever you visit. I think the Thai people say that there are 2 seasons – one hot, one cooler and one wet. Unfortunately, July is very wet and the wettest month of the year. We had 5 days of non-stop rain which appeared from nowhere. I understand about this time of year to be the hottest and with the Thai New Year going on as well, it’s an excellent time to visit. November (my next trip) is the cooler season with temperatures still very high, but nice at about 32C.

Don’t be put off by the thought of rain though. We had perfect weather for most of our 3 week holiday last July and the rain is a treat in the very humid conditions in which you’ll be living. Have a great trip.
