My OM-10 is an SLR and does the job! It’s a solid camera and I bought it second hand with a 50mm lens for just £80 or something crazy!

I then bought a second hand 200mm lens for £60 (which has since been returned because it was faulty) and then a second hand(!!) 2x Converter for about £15.

Everything is second hand because such part are no longer made for this camera. Getting hold of new lenses and other extras is easy too. Go to your local Jessops, LCE or other smaller shops and they’ll have plenty.

So, for little over £150, you could get a second hand camera kit; Olympus OM-10, 50mm lens, 200mm lens and 2x converter. Bargain!

I think profit can be made from a gift, here’s my example:

You get a nice woolly sweater for Christmas from your long lost Gran in Sweden (remember, just an example). However nice it is, it’s just too small and you need to get rid of it. So, you could:

    A) Have a garage sale and sell it for a few pence.
    B) Donate it to a charity shop who would make profit from it.
    C) Send it back to your Gran in Sweden claiming it doesn’t fit, also telling her that you are sending it back because you didn’t want to sell it and make profit.

    😀

So you’d still pay £0.01 for it then Kev? It must mean something to you.

I don’t think Richard Branson or his airline is as well respected as it could be.

The fact that he offered £1 for Concorde is an idiotic and careless action. Even if it is a joke, it’s not the sort of joke you make in such a serious and expensive industry.

I also believe you can make comparisons between any two airlines, the fact that BA is a national carrier is neither here nor there. They are both British airlines, flying some of the same routes and in competition with one another.

But however classy BA is, they are also a whole lot more. For some reason, there was a supplement of about £300 per person to fly with them opposed to Thai when we booked our holiday.

Well, that’s the meda, but it seems pretty genuine. But I think that if Branson wants to stand any chance in all of this, he has seriously got to grow up and make a serious bid – they’re not going to come quite so cheap!

And if he is to buy one for a pound, I want one too!

I think Virgin deserve to get these wonderful aircraft. It seems tragic that they could go to waste at such short notice.

Obviously, being put on display at museums isn’t really wasting them, but they’ve still got some life left in them and should fly until they really are at the end of their careers.

Virgin has claimed that they will ensure all flights are completely full and to do this, they’ll lower the price! We could all afford to fly in such luxury.

However, the way I see it is that British Airways (not familiar with AF) like to have a classic approach to on board facilities and service, compared to Virgin Atlantic which likes hi-tech travel, couldn’t bear it if the passenger had nothing to do. Concorde is an exceptional aircraft, one of it’s kind and one that has been incredibly successful in it’s earlier days.

If Virgin should get hold of some of these aircraft, I think to spray them silver like their A340s and 747s would be an act of cruelty. As much I like this scheme, such a “hi-tech” scheme does certainly not work on an aircraft which we have only ever seen in white.

I think the red logo should be applied to a white fuselage.
