    RE: JMC and their 330’s

I doubt very much you’ll receive the great service and in-flight entertainment with JMC that you will have experienced when flying with Airtours, I’ve only done the Airtours A330 myself.

RE: Strikes At UK Airports This Summer?

You may not be affected. All the time I’ve flown into or out of Gatwick I’ve never had Aviance (or whatever they’re called) handling my luggage. You may find that British Midland or Servisair will be responsible for your stuff and so the consequences of this strike will be minimal.

This livery looks brilliant on my favourite all time airliner – The 763!

    RE: Farnborough

I’ve got two tickets and I’m unsure as to what I should do. Do I go on one day and take my completely unenthusiastic father ot do I go on my own on both days??

If I go on one day it’ll be the Sunday and I’m going to be taking a few photos.

Very peculiar! I think after seeing Airline on ITV1 we can tell they’re not the best run airline in the world!

Great sum-up of your trip anyway.

RE: Why isn’t Teesside bigger than it is?

I agree with what others have said. With LBA and NCL nearby, there is little need for more flights from the north.

I’ve just had a glimpse at the Teesside Airport website (http://www.teessideairport.com/) and I’m wondering if there was any need for this airport in the first place with other airports in the area.

Between 05:10hrs and 20:10hrs tomorrow, there are scheduled flights arriving from this destinations:

    Amsterdam
    Heathrow
    Dublin
    Aberdeen

MyTravel is also flying in from Larnaca and Tenerife. It doesn’t really serve much of a purpose – perhaps it could be the main hub for charter airlines in the UK, one where you only see Britannia, MyTravel, Excel, JMC etc opposed to the larger airlines BMI, KLM UK etc. (??) hmm… maybe not.

RE: Future of 3 engined commercial liners

I think that over the next few years, tri-jets will gradually disappear from our skies. The L-1011 and the DC-10 are both fine aircraft. Delta withdrew all their Tristars from service and I think this will be the first of the three main three engined jets to go, closely followed by the DC-10. The far more recent MD-11 will hopefully be with us for a few years to come or at least until a half decent replacement is thought of.

    RE: Im pleased with myself

I done my work experience two years ago and was hoping to be at Heathrow Airport and had it planned out about a year in advance.

No airlines would take me on as I live over 25 miles from the airport although I can get there by train in just 25 minutes!

I ended up working with ‘ntl:’ “Technology completely ruined”. It was dreadful and just not what I wanted to do. Working with complete halfwits as they attempted to fix already broken telephone lines, Digital boxes etc.

In no way is this post designed to intimidate or degrade ntl, you really are quite bearable.

    RE: Model Aircraft

My two are a bit disappointing then, I got a long way to go!

My Airtours A330 (G-MLJL) was supposed to be £6.99 but as they had just 4 weeks before becoming MyTravel they were all sold at £4.99.

My mum returned from Cyprus last week and purchased an Excel Airways 738. It’s on the same scale and made by the same company as that of Airtours and cost an extortionate £9.50!!

How do they jusitfy these prices?!

    RE: Concorde in trouble again!

Concorde is supposed to be withdrawn from service by 2010 I heard..

Anyway, back to the Concorde problems. I don’t believe it’s as bad as first thought. With 13 Concorde aircraft operated between AF and BA they have to be increasingly vidulent and correct the slightest of problems.

I was acutally in my garden this afternoon when Concorde returned. I saw it go past in one direction and then later on it returned. I made a comment to my mum and knew something was wrong.

Forgive me for stepping out of line. But you should get rid of the name of the photographer. A quick search on Airliners.net for that person reveals all!

    😉 Hope this helps!

    RE: Model Aircraft

As of March this year I decided to start buying the airline’s own range of models. As you can probably appreciate, I’m only 17 and rarely fly so my collection currently consists of an Excel Airways 738 and an Airtours International A330-200.

If I would have started collecting a few years ago, it would be much more exciting.

    Great topic by the way.
