That’s a bargain to do the vinyls on that. A drop in the ocean and does a lot to promote social cohesion and equality in the force. The thing is if you are going to criticise that then there plenty of more expensive one off paint jobs (RAF ones for example) which cost a lot more.

It’s not. It’s just those newspapers and media outlets weren’t trying to solve the problem by themselves. Just contributing in a small way. Just like if you march in support something you are hoping to start or contribute to a movement.

You mocked those outlets because you wrongly assumed they were claiming to make ISIS afraid. It’s ok to misunderstand. It’s about movements John and making a small difference. It would be like me quoting your condemnation of Isis and saying they are quaking in their boots because of John Green. It’s ok though John. Just read slower and don’t jerk those knees too much. Be the best you can John. We’re all willing you on!

It’s ok John. It’s a free country which is why you can start this thread saluting a nazi soldier. its just interesting that of all the people to pick you picked him.

I guess the French media are using their tools of the trade to make the world a better place even if only in a very small way. Much the same as you John. Making the world a kinder and more empathetic place with each stroke of the keyboard. We can’t expect everyone to make that level of contribution can we? That said, always better to mock something proactive when we can sit and critisise from afar!

John Green, a man with no time and so much hostility to the ways of the modern world and so many of the people within it but yet a man who finds time to salute a nazi in a tribute thread!

    🙂

To be clear, I will remove any further insulting remarks, whoever they are made against.

But the existing torrents of rascist posts are allowed to stand? Do any of the mods care any more?

Open rascism. Hope Key and the mods are proud of themselves for allowing it. There are a number of people who deserve an outright ban. Shame on you mods.

Forum code of conduct expressly outlaws it aswell as common decency.

I don’t think that ‘butchered for no reason’ is more honest, or accurate…

…given that France had been attacked by Germany in 1914 and was still under attack at Verdun in 1916 what would you have done?

I understand that ‘the Somme’ has become a byword for military incompetence and, with the benefit of hindsight, we’d probably all have done something differently, but are you advocating that no military action was taken by the British as that would seem to be the only way to avoid any ‘unnecessary’ deaths?

‘For no reason’ is wrong. ‘For no good reason’ is more accurate.

The whole war was unnecessary and all parties were to blame for allowing things to escalate to the point they did without stepping back to stop it. And yes there was
Incompetence but it was beyond that. Sending scores of men over the top time and time again was murderous.

What would I have done? I wouldn’t have declared war in the first place and neither should any of them. What actually were they fighting for? To put simply?

Those ww1 memories that say ‘they died for your freedom’ are being a bit loose with the truth. They died for much more tragic reasons than that. Please note, I’m referring only to this being the case with ww1 where as ww2 presents a clearer case for that epitaph.

Poppies have lost much of there strength of message. Some honest words about how the governments of the time failed these men, regardless of nationality, would be refreshing at one of these events and much more powerful.

I wish they’d adopt a more honest way to remembering these events with someone actually saying they were butchered for no reason rather than endless platitudes about dying for our freedom.

Almost as ludicrous as some of the people posing for selfies Infront of the wave of poppies at the Tower of London when the majority of them probably don’t have any knowledge, inclination or desire to help those affected by war today. So easy to wear a poppy but so much Harder to do something about the problems of today.

A better way to honour these poor men would be to stick the hundreds of thousands spent on commemorations into relief work for those hit by war today.

That’s my last post on here. This place is getting more bigoted and disturbing by the week and apart from a few people who challenge certain types of comments, much is left unchallenged. Particularly noticeably by the mods too.

    Why?

    Are you serious?

It’s a crude anti Islam propaganda film masquerading as an information film. It says noting positive about Islam, only creates fear of the ‘other’

Its awful and you know what it’s doing!

Critising a democratic decision is part of democracy. There is no irony. It’s mutually compatible.

Just one of many ‘coincidental’ race hate incidents since the referendum. I hope those who voted leave recognise that by giving legitimacy to the tone of the leave campaign that it has encouraged many dreadful acts like these to occur.

What did anyone think would happen?

Goves proclamation of the ‘Britain has had enough of experts’ is sounding more ignorant even than it did at the time. Who needs knowledge and wisdom when we can run a campaign that just involves statements with no basis in facts.

So no, not everyone who voted out is rascist but an uncomfortable amount are border line and those that did vote leave voted with a campaign that engaged in the use of rascist scaremongering leaflets and posters. So not racists maybe but certainly guilty of hanging out with the wrong crowd.

Which part of “True I do not think it should have been run as it was misleading” Is standing up for it? I was just explaining what it was, I am not getting into some argument here, I was just presenting the facts as they were put out, there is enough arguing going on at the moment in this Country without us all starting.

No, not just misleading. It was rascist.

By not recognising as such contributes to the problem.
