I was at the 95th anniversary as a guest of the then C/O Wing Commander Andrew Hine. His aircraft was painted in a similar style. I remember one of the senior pilots quipping about the fact that they might have to borrow an aircraft for the 100th due to forthcoming cuts…and that was in 2007!
It was still a great night in the Officers mess for the evening meal though, no stops in the budget there:)

I suspect mogs has been before;) but agree with Bayeaux, it is a very well laid out cemetery.
For me personally, the little CWGC section at Douvres-de-Deliverande, here: http://www.flashearth.com/?lat=49.29019&lon=-0.377176&z=17.3&r=0&src=msl
for the Suffolk Regiment losses in the attack on ‘Hillman’ & ‘Morris’ where my dear old Dad fought.
Unfortunately I didnt measure it, the things you forget to do, knowing how important they could be eh?
I will ask my contact at the museum to measure it for me, but probably that wont happen for a few days.
Everyones assistance appreciated 🙂
Thanks,
That was my initial guess too, what other aircraft used that type of blade though?
Have you ever found all the pieces to complete one?
Unfortunately no, Whenever I have found a large piece I always thought it would come out whole….it never does 🙂
Just a couple for comparison…

Not always it didnt;)
I have the similar markings, and dates, on bits of plate found on Hunsdon airfield years ago.
Seems like the ‘erks had stuff off of the NAAFI wagon at dispersals and launched it into ditches instead of returning it. Probably the same in your case.
And I just happen to know where two sets of Tiffie U/C legs are stored…
Owner willing to part I’m told 😉
The Nimrod image is a beaut, what a gorgeous aircraft.
Day trip to North Coates now in the diary.. 😀
…along with every other junk collector with a metal detector and a spare days holiday:)
Again, good wishes, we hope the next few days sees full recovery underway:)
Sounds like a Perkins diesel piston to me too.
