Hello clave, different forum, different subjects;) You can guess who I am by the avatar:)
Have YOU got a collection? If so have you made provision for when you “fall off the perch”
Hah!
I have a 26 year old son who does not hide the fact that he will sell anything I own on ebay when I snuff it:p
He thought his boat came in in May when I had my heart attack, now I have just had my triple bypass op, I have threatened to outlive the little sod;) We do get on very well by the way:)

I also heard a similar story from another ex Sawbridgeworth vet at the memorial day we held last year.
No, I just cannot abide trains, let alone trains that travel in long tunnels:p

I think the RAF officer is AVM Basil Embry, the place could be AAFCE HQ Fontainebleau post war . No idea on the US officer though.
And the P-40 just passed over my house three miles from North Weald at 18:31, hows that for reporting:)
Steve,
I really cannot be sure where any items from the EAG ended up after I left. I do remember a vague comment by an interested party, that much ended up with a private collection near Epping.
Perhaps the items from the Fjord were spread about to several museums? On the display board for the surviving fin at Duxford it mentions who recovered the items, but I fail to remember who by myself.
As for Dave and Stan, I think they were original members, but had parted company from the EAG before I arrived on the scene. Internal politics have been the downfall of many small groups in the past, and the bugbear of many today I’m afraid!.
It was the Essex Aviation Group who were at Duxford, I was a member of the group during 1979-85. The Heinkel wreckage was not actually a group owned item, being on loan from the IWM. That, and wreckage from a Bf109, I think originated from Storvetnic* (Sp) lake in Norway. The tail fin of the Heinkel is still on display in one of the Hangars at Duxford. Pete Rushen will know the ID for sure.
I dont know of the whereabouts of the fuselage section, or what happened to the many exhibits from the EAG, once our ‘lease’ had run out on the main building we had occupied. The current little building does not contain very much of what we once had on display.
If you need any drawing designs ref the mounting bracket for the blade, we can help. getting quite expert at mounting prop blades from a security point of view.

I spotted what appeared to be three mustangy shaped things floating about over the M11 this afternoon. looked like they were accompanied by a sharp noisy pointed thing:) Couldnt have been ‘leg ends’ on, not with a parrafin burner knocking about!.
I was on my way back from RAF Marham, where I was assisting II(AC) Squadron to celebrate their 95th anniversary, and a good time was had by us all:p
This slipped under the radar for me Steve, what squadron were the crew from?. If a Hunsdon based aircraft, then I would like to attend myself.
On the strength of the info you supplied, Everett told me by email, that they still have XX842. I may be able to purchase a small part of her to present to my son as a keepsake. I will keep you informed!
