Some more progress pics.
This is the glider release handle that was given to me by a friend, the new fitting was made yesterday and fits nicely (hole still to be drilled) at the side of the throttle box. All pilot’s notes I have of the Halifax show this fitment in place so who am I to omit it. The elevator trim indicator is also ready, but needs still to be painted (as with almost all bis, I am a bit chicken to do this, but that will be sorted out soon I hope, any tips?) the perspex has been a modified version as the original was rounder in shape and moulded. I will replace this in due course to make it more authentic but at least the rest of it already is and works. Deryck, any idea how this was made on NA337?
Finally some pics of the compass bracket that fits below the instrument panel between the pilot’s legs and an oxygen panel with indicator and bajonet fitting. This will be the year of the Halifax.

The new year has started out great for the project.
This is the engine control box through which the push pull rods go towards the wings from the throttle box. On top of that the fairing which protects similar rods from the fuel cocks. This whole assembly fits on the back of the pilot’s bulkhead, which incidentally is the next (in this case) major project.

The guard made from tubing is fitted temorarily but needs to be trimmed
and fitted in a more horizontal position. At this angle you wouldn’t even be able to get into the pilot’s seat.:D

The console for the undercarriage, flaps and bombdoor levers is now finished.
The trapezium hole is for the flaps and bombdoors (could be a real pain in an emergency) and the round hole on the port side is for the undercarriage lever.

Hi.
At Dumfries and Galloway Aviation Museum, I’m at present working on a Jet Provost, a bit of a wreck as you can see from the photo. What instruments I can’t get I have made as long as I have a photo (Pilots Notes) I have to make the port and starboard oxygen controllers but the photo’s are to fuzzy. Has anyone please got a decent photo or a drawing, would be very grateful.Ken
Regarding Jp mk3’s – I am the custodian of two such fine beasties. Send your e-mail in a PM and I’ll see if ours have them still fitted and get some good photos. Won’t be til next week though….

Hi.

Some more progress
The engine control duct is now finished and everything is riveted together (and fits!:) ). In the first pic it’s fitted tot the pilot chassis which will be the pilot’s floor where all the controls etc. are fitted. This is the heart of the Halifax cockpit. With the instrument panel in the general area it’s beginning to look like something familiar.
