Cees whats the history on the seat cusion with it being 1944? Absolutely stunning work as well !!!

Now be honest Cees – you have sat in the pilots seat making engine noises and pretending to fly havent you???? 😉

Some more progress. The sutton harness and seat cushion (originals with the seat cushion stamped 1944) as well as the intercom connector have been fitted to the seat. And I couldn’t wait anymore and fitted the seat on the pilot’s chassis. This is really starting to come togehter.
Am I pleased? …………….what do you think:)

Thanks, but I see myself more as a conductor (and banker). I am still learning the basics but I have a lot of contacts as well that are very important.
The bottom line is: enjoying it seing it grow.

And don’t anyone dare to put an original pilot’s seat on e-bay….:dev2:

what are the joysticks at the side of the main control wheels? they look like fighter grips.

They are the C-1 formation sticks. They were fitted to some B-17 and B-24’s to aid close formation flying, they worked by connecting to the autopilot servo’s, so then the pilot could fly using the stick, a kind of early fly by wire system.
I dont think they were that impressed with them and many pilots preferred to have a feel of the controls rather than use a stick that was not connected directly to the flying controls.
As for cockpitfest, maybe, but would like to press on and try and finish it, as I have a few more other projects I want to do.
