I can prepare beans on toast and have it on a plate a lot faster than I can prepare a good sunday roast, I hope you get my point 🙂

Yes but my point stands, the Chinese have more money and will get their plane to production faster. It may have underpowered Russian engines and may not be that polished when it enters service.

But it will be a major propaganda victory for China as well.

I am willing to bet that the J 20 will enter service before the PAK FA.

You may criticize Aroor but he has good inside connections that he is most of the times the first to come up with such images. Now Teer and a few others may be more knowledgeable but haven’t see anyone else in any blog, posting things faster than Shiv.

There is a reason why Livefist won the Defense IQ blogging award.

If Syria attacks Turkey and Turkey calls for Nato help then Greece may have no choice but to fight Syria for Turkey 🙂

The logic is flawed, because Turkey do possess more modern Aircraft so it don’t have to rely that much on Air Defense, I doubt anything Syria has any chance over Turkish skies.

If anything that supports what Zare is saying.

If the NATO get involved Russia will not, they neither have the will nor the resources to get engaged in conflicts outside their peripheries (read Georgia)

Yeah so what everybody has Nukes. Nukes have no purpose in limited conflicts no one will be risking MAD for small conflicts.

Conventional force levels says you are wrong and that U.S is the only super power.

    Tsars didn’t have ballistic missiles.

I can only hope that this Western bull**** against Syria stops at failed attempts of propaganda, media lies, and support of anti-state “terrorists”. Because any direct attempt will meet Russian opposition. In that situation, one superpower would back down (with complete embarrassment), or we have WW3. Russia is not going to back down.

There is only one super power and its not Russia,

With respect to Iran, Israelis can do it alone don’t really need NATO/U.S help.

Hypothetically if Syria go crazy and attack Turkey won’t Greece come to the Turk’s aid as a fellow NATO member. 😀

Piece of cake or not is entirely subjective, I will say all of NATO/U.S air wars after Vietnam have been easy affairs, because the opponents were always at a qualitative and quantitative disadvantage.

Now this may not be as easy as Libya but I cannot see it taking a similar toll on them as the first Gulf War either.

Dear friend, you said “…they will destroy Syrian air defenses using Tomahawks first then the Rafale/Stike Eagles will do the rest.” So would you care to expand a little bit as to how much of serbian air defenses were destroyed?

Serbia was mission failed. Milosevic was finally overthrown but by his own people, not NATO.

Actually i qualified my initial statement by saying over desert terrain. It was different in Sebria where SAM systems had more cover, here they don’t have that and hence they can be destroyed more easily, ie. no need to always use dedicated Anti Radiation Missiles.

The Serbians were clever in using their radars for shorter periods and the terrain gave them some cover, can’t happen in Syria.

Yes sure, just like they did in Serbia.

    Ah!… but that’s different I hear you say……

In every war there will be some losses but Serbia was Mission Accomplished 😎

They shot down an F4 an antiquated plane. If the west gets involved they will destroy Syrian air defenses using Tomahawks first then the Rafale/Stike Eagles will do the rest. I give max two weeks before Syrian defenses are wiped out. Then its Libya all over again.

Libyan experiment proves that that is not necessary in all cases. Arm the rebels and take out targets from above, works great in desert terrain.
