ADA and co have actually developed most of the critical subsystems for LCA unlike saab which has the luxury of integrating carefully chosen items developed elsewhere. for example, LCA’s most time consuming exercise has been developing and validating the CLAW while the gripen simply uses the F-16’s.
while establishing ‘track record’ people focus on rate of progress. I don’t believe you are doing so.
19 years from barely 2nd gen capabilities 4+ gen is amazing progress by any standard.
Many critical systems were sourced from the U.S. I think there was U.S support in developing the quad redundant fbw for example, this along with the use of U.S Engine was the reason why the LCA suffered because of Sanctions. And Elta has helped with the Radar, The engine is totally imported while Volvo Aero played atleast some part in RM12 and GEF414 on the Gripen. The HMS is another JV.
The statement that LCA was totally developed in house is a myth.

hello, the gripen, like all other modern fighters can withstand 9G and any higher G’s only momentarily. what makes you think the LCA is any different ?
While LCA is certainly designed to be a 9G fighter has it demonstrated the capability ?
LCA already features the same level of rudimentary sensor fusion that gripen does. the AMCA would of course feature sensor fusion of a generation beyond. in time that would also flowback into the LCA.
The Gripen has a high level of sensor fusion with a brilliant datalink and other sensors (Look up the old Gripen News threads). LCAs level of sensor fusion as yet is an unknown quantity as it is not yet demonstrated. May be we will get a clearer picture when it nears the FoC.
difficult to compare isn’t it ? however, DRDO jammers are already replacing/complementing the elta el/m-8222 in IAF service. an even more advanced design is a couple of years from production. make what you want of it.
This is an Area where India has made great progress and I thin the Tejas will have state of the art EW systems matching or exceeding the current Gripen.

completely irrelevant. LCA does not need to integrate every old projectile from around the world, just the ones that India makes and IAF asks for. if needed however, integrating a weapon system is quite easy thanks to its OAC.
Agrees totally. LCA need not have the weapon diversity of a Gripen as its not a one size fit all solution for the IAF.

Yes but suffers at sea-level and during close in dog fight environment because of the current underpowered engine (as stated by ADA big wigs themselves). Hopefully will be sorted with the new engine.
