No Typhoon looks ugly with those canards, Rafale looks good.
How will the Arabs recognize Israel? Last time I checked they are not democracies. You meant their monarchs recognizing Israel while their populations keep hating Israel with their mullahs claiming victory that they have defeated Zionists who are retreating. And keep spreading hatred, Who is stopping them? IMHO I think that is asking too much from Israel to give up their physical gains for some token gesture that they exist. Well guess what, they exist anyway.
It is wrong under International Law, Israel is showing double standards, while accusing Iran of violating the NPT it violates more international laws by building on annexed and land and so and so. For me this shows the futility of UN and other such organisations, they are just tools of foreign policy for the elite.
Monarchy or whatever form don’t matter if a government signs a treaty its binding to the next government as well.
British India signed a lot of treaties which still is respected by Republic of India.
You also have said that you want a UN where majority rule determines UN actions.
How do you see that working out in the Middle East?
Israel to implement the two state solution, give back annexed lands from wars, in return the Arabs recongonizing Israel.
Am sure a majority vote UN will decide on that line.
How does that fit in with your idea of a UN governed by “democratic” rule?
My idea is a minimalistic UN, with no power of intervention.
Israel should never have formed where it did in the first place. I am all for the Jewish state but the location was not ideal, it was easy and Neither western Europeans nor Russians wanted to deal with the return of displaced Jews after WW2.
Having said that Israel has the right to exist and the right to defend itself, in their shoes even I would have done what they are threatening to do a long time ago. My problem is when people try to legalize it, why not admit world is an unfair place where everyone tries to look after their interests !
How would that be democratic? Would you give Nauru (population <10000) the same vote as China or India? That gives each Nauru citizen over 100 thousand times the voting power of a Chinese or Indian citizen. And how is it democratic for non-elected governments to cast votes?
The UN could only be democratic if we had worldwide elections.
Each nation has one vote the nation’s population power etc. should not matter.
What form of government a nation has is no one else’s business.
There should be No UN then, if it wants to meddle in the affairs of soverign nations.
I am not against intervention per se, but do it saying am more powerful I can do it, don’t put the veil of fairness and international law on it.
Soverignity over rides any international law.
If that were the case since the UN’s beginning, how do you think problems in the Middle East would have worked out?
Or anywhere else for that matter.
UN is certainly good in some aspects my problem is with the elitist security council, which has the right to violate a nations soverignity arbitarily. And also stupid laws like NPT where by the powerful prevents the up and coming from having Nuclear weapons.
No mention about Nirbhay Air Launched verison. 🙁
So after all this years of pain and effort it becomes another JV in name. I really hope they keep the vanilla Kaveri Core for some other projects, for some future trainer of sorts which needs only that much power.
One of the main reasons the MKI is realiable for the IAF is that at this stage almost everything is sourced from the country itself, an advantage of domestic production and a large order, which the MiG 29 did not have.
However I think there may still be little niggles which are absent on western platforms, hence the IAF preference for a western MRCA ?
The NPT is the worst treaty in existence as it don’t make it mandatory for powers who already posess Nuclear Weapons to destroy them.
U.N should be democratic, Security council should be disbanded and every decision should be taken by a majority vote in the General Assembly.
Thats idealism however, in the current circumstance Israel holds all the cards and despite the rhetoric, and unless a solid assurance of protection by Russia (like it gave Egypt during the Suez crisis) I cannot see this ending well for Iran.
In a real war against a competent enemy, the Rafale air base would be all destroyed by ballistic missiles and/or cruise missiles at the end of day one.
The bases will be guarded with Anti Ballistic Missile systems, and we can strike back the same way as well. Rafale because of its great range can be based further away from the borders 🙂
With the full complement of Rafales joining IAF will maintain its superiority over PAF and will get an edge over PLAAF.
I am being proven right may be i have secret access to Russian decision makers.
An Article in today’s Hindu Newspaper explains India’s official position on British aid to India. Indian Finance minister has repeatedly told parliament that India does not need what he calls as ‘peanuts’ from Britain, India is only accepting it because British politicians spent a lot of political capital on securing it.
So India is doing Britain a favour by accepting your aid and not the other way around.
The sooner it gets through to politicians there the better. Britain has more to loose than India if the relationship breaks down. Typhoon lost because it was not L1 that is all that mattered at the final stage. It could still win if Dassault screws up negotiations which i do not put beyond them.
The Brits use the aid to serve their own purpose, so do the other western nations, there are many NGOs in India ‘funded’ by foreign countries aid and other assistance programmes, who act as eyes and ears for the donor nation.
I wish they will stop their stupid ‘aid’ and shut up. Giving aid to win fighter competitions is akin to giving rice to change ones religion.
F 35/Gripen for the Win 🙂
IMO this is IAFs insurance against a dud Tejas MK2
