That is definately an issue. Should India get embargoed by Uncle Sam, they will merely loose availability for some of their transports. A drawback, sure, but hardly a war outcome determiner.

It wont affect wartime avialability as subcontinental wars are short. Could affect after the war though.

How many of these paltforms are for offencise purpose? Is India here with some sort of reliability test for US as a supplier?

India has a habit of appeasing everyone and all these deals happening just before the MMRCA seems to indicate that its not a US fighter that is going to get selected. :diablo:

My money is on the Gripen ๐Ÿ˜‰

It’s the kind of logic that prevails on the highest level of negotiations. ๐Ÿ˜‰

True, but then again, Lockheed has been selling weapons to opposing sides for decades, take the case of Greece vs Turkey for instance. All arms dealers do so. However they did manage to secure a small order for C-130Js from India. No big deal, but it’s a first step.

    Best regards.

I know but i listed out the only thing that can negatively affect the Super Hornet bid, the Price. The dumbed down version of AESA and other things may concern us but for the IAF it will be a non issue if it meets minimum required range.

Actually and as far as SH is concerned, I could say with virtually no risk, that India procuring 10 C-17s is the death sentence for the SH candidateship at the MRCA. I thought it was rather likely when India selected the P-8, but now I am positive. Boeing has managed to secure way too much cash from India. They can’t possibly get ALL the big contracts for many reasons.

But then again, I never liked the SH anyway :diablo:

    Best regards

 What Kind of Logic is that. Of the two American aviation majors India seems to have a preference towards Boeing possibly because of many years of civilian partnership. Lockheed may also suffers from image because of selling stuff to Pakistan.

The only reason SH could lose this competition is the price, IAF may be forced to choose the lowest bidders which complies with its requirement, F 16, Gripen and Mig 35. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I think the CH-47s are meant for the airforce. It is not in the Same league as the Mi 171, IAF is looking to replace/suppliment its force of Mi 26 with Ch 47s.

It does have a lot of advantage like insertion and evacuation of troops from the rear ramp even on remote hill tops (as seen in a lot of videos of UK Ch 47s in Afghanistan). The CH 47s seem to be doing a great job in Afghanistan so I doubt hot and high is an issue with it either.

Will the Chinese offer the latest J 10 B variant to Pakistan though ? I remember a heated debat between plawolf and a few Pakistani forumers on this a while back. I think they will in limited numbers.

Are you implying the USA would not fulfill her treaty obligations by not defending Taiwan in a war with China?

Some people really underestimate situations. Thankfully the Chinese govt. does not that is why if ever Taiwan will become part of China it will be through a peaceful process.

Perhaps India should buy this paperplane

Perhaps India will. But that will have nothing to do with Tejas. It is part of another competition. What is the point in your post

They do mass produce things, the J 10 entered service a few years back and they now have about 150 – 300 in service. Unless ofcourse even that is a myth.

Actually it is very hard to get in google. I tried my best earlier. On the first instance of some one wanting it reposted too I could not find it via google and lost the original link, then another forumer found it and posted it.

try HAL built Hawks cheaper or something, I have had no luck with it.

This is not the same its an earlier link saying it would be cheaper, the other news came out after the first HAL built Hawks were delivered.

What does everyone think of starting an Indo-Pak discussion thread in General forum ?

Wow, from now on Iยดm gonna quote this every time you (specially) and other LCA-fanboys asks for Gripen-links in matters that has been written here countless of times. Shall we make a bet how many times the question about the price on Gripen vs LCA is going to come up in the future? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Or you can rather search and find it yourself in this very forum. I am not the only one who has seen it there are many others.

ASBM has the best chance to take down entire carrier. when fired with couples it will be difficult for carrier to react.

Carriers do not travel alone they have escorting destroyers which can take out Missiles and AC.

oh, so you only accept the views that you think it is right.

I would rather believe a Navy man in Naval matters.

which one? would you please show me ๏ผŸ or the links to the original source …because we normally won’t take what is said in a post as a proof. so a link to some news or report would be much reliable and let’s know how cheap these FIVE hawks could be.

There are like X IAF threads many with 20-30 pages. The source was posted twice, first in an earlier thread and second in a later thread because some one like you doubted it, one of the users went through great pains to dig it up. I do not have the patience or time to do it. You can choose not to believe me if you do not want to.
