Its funny with slides.
Thank you any photos of J 10A front cockpit.
Lovely Photos 🙂
Don’t want to get into this again, but no other nation has had issues with T-90 accuracy. It is operated in many desert countries. In comparitive trials in the middle east it has repeatedly shown excellent ability.
So, either Indian crews are incompetent, Indian ammunition makers are low quality, or it is misreported bull**** with an agenda.
I don’t really care what others believe, I know what I think.
The only way to really find out is if Russia sell some to Iran. Lets see how they would fare in the war which is coming 3-4 years from now.
Like you, I know what I think as well.
And from that you derive the blanket statement that all Russian air vehicles are comparatively worse than American ones? Well if that is the land that the Indian defense industry lives in…lol. I suspect they are more pragmatic.
How would the Ambassador even know what he is talking about, somehow I doubt he had first hand experience with either American or Soviet bombers of the time.
I find the whole comparison stupid. Why is Russia expected to compete with all of Europe and the US, and if it does not win every contract, it must mean the production is inferior across the board?
Did you read what I said. I never said Russian weapons are inferior, I said there may be a perception that they are & that the positive aspect of Russian weapons are the lack of strings & ToT, India & Russia having a good level of strategic convergence etc.
But if you compare just platform to platform in the post cold war era, Russian weapons are unlikely to win many contracts in India. I can only think about two Russian platforms which may win without JV – MI 17 (i see further orders coming for that) & Mi 26 T2 may yet win as well.
Russia = Mostly JVs with extensive ToT
U.S = off the shelf purchases, negligible ToT.
E.U/Israel = JVs & Purchases with ToT, some off the shelf buying.
Not bad at all, the cockpit looks very similar to the Block-60/Gripen layout, much bigger MFDs than the Typhoon,Rafale or Tejas.
How does it compare to the J 10 cockpit ?
AMRAAM & HARM on Rafale 😀
I love the look of JF 17 with those big missiles. Is there anyone else who thinks it looks better than J 10 ?
That article says purchase F-35 & MRCA 🙂
No political considerations it seems :
http://zeenews.india.com/news/nation/no-political-considerations-for-mmrca-deal-antony_741209.htmlAgreed with TR1 & Twinblade, of course.
Good day all, Tay.
That puts Rafale ahead IMO
I think IAF will go for ASRAAM as they have chosen it for the Jaguar DARIN III I think. Then again if the Americans are integrating and offering this free of cost, and if the AMRAAM is (probably will be) significantly cheaper than the Meteor, then sadly I can see the Raytheon package being accepted.
What indications are those I wonder? Article is completely unspecific.
There are other parts to that article, like Apache having better armor, that are complete nonsense. Makes you wonder if the rest is accurate…
IMO all future deals with Russians apart from Mi 17 would be JVs. IAF prefers buying from the west when its outright purchase.
Because through out the years there is a belief in GOI that Russian weapons are inferior but comes with great flexibility/ToT/JV etc. (Comment made by Indian Ambassador to SU in the past when SU offered TU-22 (not M) bombers to India was that Russian Bombers are not as good as American ones, but they are far less restrictive).
I think Appache uses composite armor while Mi 28 uses normal Armor. There was an article on the KA 52 Armor i think posted by Austin long back, that it uses composite materials (kevlar ? not exactly sure) and thus saves on weight while providing equal or better protection than standard armor.
The T-90 comparison was conducted by Indian army which found it inferior in man aspects to the Arjun MBT, the Indian Army was always agaisnt the Arjun MBT and preffered the T 90 so it must be true. And i give the army trials more credibility than forumers here or in MP.net (who’s word would you take a Russian/German former Tank man or the Indian Army)
Appache is battle proven, and that is a big factor.
According to Air Forces Monthly’s Alan Warnes this will be the case. Apparantly details released next week.

Should be interesting. What are your thoughts?
😀 Could have an Impact on MRCA.
Imagine Pakistanis coming out saying they beat typhoons.
Thank God we have our Jaguars 🙂
