Some more info about that Su-25SM3
Contract for 36 Su-25SM3 currently underway at the 121st Repair Plant. First 8 handed over in 2011, 16 this year, and 12 in 2013.
They probably wish to keep some core, some skeletal force, some basic skill level with an eye to the future.
Thought so, but the I don’t really see Ukrainian Navy buying a new submarine any time this decade, and the force level kept up via Zaparozhye would be extremely skeletal, given the age of the boat. Maybe someone will donate a boat for very friendly price…
Good point, would be nice to see some photos in different conditions.

Another pic of the beast, same conditions/settings though.
I think that was more pilot retardation than Apache being underpowered honestly.

Nice model of PAK-FA, hell of a payload :).

Is it just me under the effect of cheap rum and high contrast setting of the monitor or did they paint the bottom of another beautiful bird in neon green ?
Not neon green. Just a very very light baby blue.
It is like they took the Mighty Duck scheme, but made it lighter all around. Ugh.

Looks like a Turkmen Su-25 got the same treatment, baby blue bottom, horribly mixing with camo top. Praying this doesn’t become the standard.
Probably it’s just been painted , they’ll add the bort number and the VVS ROSSII logo shortly imo.:)
Let’s just put VVS PUTIN on it, skip the middle man.
I want to stab people and kittens in their faces:

Jesus tapdancing dinosaur riding Christ.
Very nice, professional looking scheme.
Why no VVS Rossiye on the sides though? All it needs.
It was. It didn’t make it to the pre-evaluation shortlist for reasons that aren’t exactly clear.
It was half baked just a few years ago, so its not really a surprise.
Too bad it can’t compete now.
TR1, this SM order are going to AVMF(Black Sea).
They will phase out those old Su-24 stationed at Ukrane Navy base me thinks..
I read somewhere that the VVS and Ukraine base lease contract does not allow more then 18 units to be stationed there.
So at best it will be 18 Su-30SM there, but i think 12(one Sq) will do. Cause there also are some Su-24MR(4-6 i think..), don’t know if these also will be phased out by Su-30SM..So the questions are, where will the rest of em go?
And What kind of radar will they get?Nice to see the RuAF and RuN getting all these contracts going.
Congratulation to Irkut and Sukhoi.
I don’t think so, there is nothing indicating this order is entirely for the Navy. We know so far the numbers floated are 28 for AF, 12 for navy, for first batch, so where does this 30 fit in? All for AF methinks.

Contract with Irkut for 30 Su-30SM.
Confusing, is this for VVS alone?

Wow, hell of a find. Official document, in Zelin’s name, regarding flight hours in 2011! As we can see, the yearly creep continues.

Laying of Fourth Borei delayed again.
Again…. :/
Delay is 2 months, contract and money dispute, according to article.
