It may be overexaggerated by the comments, but the criticism agast the PAK-FA’s relative abscence of signature-reducing measures is valid. I do believe the final models that’ll fly in 2017-20 will rectify many of these problems, but at present I’m only seeing a level of stealth that surpasses the Silent Eagle, not the F-35.

Witcha, I will repeat, take a look at the JSF when it first flew. Does THAT look stealth to you? Abundance of LO-negative futures.

Abundance of curves does not mean RCS is bad ;). Don’t put much stock into these amateur analyses, is my tip.

Unfortunately the upgrade isn’t much to write home about. It’s downright ghetto looking, doesn’t compare well even to Mi-24PN (which was less than adequate itself). Have seen no sign of upgraded Flankers. Several Su-25s were upgraded, but I suspect a more adequate term would be deep overhaul.

I don’t now if Vietnam will order any 5th gen fighter, they’re also slowly shifting to western equipment..

but I definitely can see Kazakhstan buying some to replace their MiG-31s and to counter Chinese build up in Xinjiang and to stop Uzbeki airplanes in the south.

No sign at all Vietnam is shifting completely to Western, or at all when it comes to fighters. 12-24 PAK-FA sometime around 2025-2030 if what the precicted Vietnam order will be. Wait and see I guess. They are only acquiring their latest Su-30s, so it will be a while.

I agree on Kazakhstan, though they have not been pumping much into a fighter force recently. Can always change though.

Their total order, when including Su-27, Su-30MK, and Su-30MK2 is quite larger than “around 20”. Amazing how you make a fool of yourself with every post.

If you are going to claim only 1/4 can fly, back it up. Every time you splurt nonsense and get called out on it, you somehow magically forget to back up your claims.

But yeah, they can only operate 4-5 5 PAK-FAs. You know better than Sukhoi who predicts Vietnam to be a future customer of at least a dozen birds.

It also shows there may not be much hope of seeing a radically different, stealthier production PAK-FA model as some are speculating.

What is inadequate about the current configuration?

Aside from the things that will come, like engine installation and inlet blocker, I don’t really have any wishes about configuration redesign.
