    Russia sells Syria 36 Yak-130 for 550 million dollars.
    Yak-130 really starting to sell, between Russia, Belorussia, Algeria, Vietnam and now Syria.
    Also probably shows that Syria is intent on remaining important enough for Russia to keep backing/Russia doesn’t want another loss of income like Libya.

    Irkut’s accomplishments in 2011, in the field of combat aircraft exports:

    -16 Yak-130 to Algeria, from the 2006 contract.
    -8 Su-30MKA to Algeria, the first from the additional order of 16 aircraft in 2010.
    -6 Su-30MKI to India, fully completed airframes, from the additional contract for 40 airframes signed in 2007.
    -10 Su-30MKI kits to India.

    Size of Irkut production in 2011 was 55 billion rubles.

    People looked at trends in the 90s and posted much “Russia’s population is goign to fall by 50 million by 2050!” nonsense. The Muslim majority talk belongs in the same category.

    Russia’s population isn’t shrinking.

    When the Su-34 enters numbers this decade the Su-25 will be obsolete? No way.
    And no, those fantasy UAVs to replace it won’t be mature/common enough either. Are they the eventual future? Yes. In the next 15-20 years? Existing Su-25 will be better choice for what Russia needs to do with them.

    PAK-DA + PAK-FA > Su-34 and UAVs.
    Maybe, but pointless either way.

    RD-33 has better fuel efficiency than the f404 and the M88 in dry thrust AFAIK.
    Worse with AB, but then again, is more powerful than either.

    I wonder why the Russian Navy seems to have chosen conventional landing boats over more capable hovercraft designs like the Zubr. More economical?

    Yep, by far. Caspian doesn’t need anything as fancy as air-cushion designs anyways.

    As for the big fleets, we shall see. Ivan Gren progress is turtle-esque.

    And is the West paying China for nearly every modern weapon having its basic origins in China? Before the West stole from China you guys were basically just chucking spears and shooting arrows at one another.

    If we are going down this stupid logical trail, let’s pay royalties for everything to African nations, after all, everything did come from them.
