yeah we buy flanker without any A2A weapon for about 10 years…
our govt is bullcrap! 😡
Waaaaht. So they are buying another 6 expensive, large, multirole fighters, and are not even getting A2A packaged for them OR the existing fleet?!?
this line exactly shows why T-50 overexpensive (Yeah ‘T’!) @ 25 million coz our TNI-AU got its Su-30MK @ 35 million, not 80.
and Yak-130 is much much cheaper than 25 million….still in the teen range
T-50 is moneywaste….
You sure the unit price was that low? If we look at the recent deal, at such a unit price less than half the deal is for the planes themselves. Any specifics to the package?
Also, Wiki has some stuff about the Indonesia flankers having no A2A weapons, this is bullcrap right?
Why do the Russian FAB series of general purpose (GP) bombs look like small oil drums with fins stuck on as an afterthought? Compare them with the US Mark 80 series of GP bombs, for example, which have a more streamlined appearence and some area ruling. Don’t the FAB series induce relatively high drag with that flat frontal section? Just something that I’ve always found puzzling

Some of the low drag appearance is there by design, curiously enough.
There are of course, streamlined FABs too.
Damn. Re-hosting.

Little while back gear failed on a Su-27SM, made a faceplant. Nice weapons load though.
Su-27 carrying out some precision bombing. :p

KAI T-50 is more advance than Yak 130, and it’s actually a Lockheed design. So advance that some potential customers think it’s too much for a trainer. So why they (the American) need to use Russian design, if they can use what actually Lockheed design ?
Because they don’t need the capabilities of the T-50 in the training role?
More advanced=/= designed for different performance.
I wasn’t counting the nation funding 25% of the aircraft as an ‘export’ customer, but whatever. Indonesia would be #2, then. Vietnam probably #3.
*bangs head on desk*
THE FUTURE IS NOT THE PAST.
What? You STILL have not provided ANY links showing Russia considers Indonesia anything BUT a marginal PAK-FA customer in the long run.
Waiting on that.
And using current trends to predict Indonesia will overtake FRance in 40 years is nothing but useless. Such long term predictions are full of holes. Some African countries have faster growing economies and population than Indonesia. Omg! In 100 years they will operate more 7th gen jets, the future is with them!
well, yes, there is a dish antenna for receiving signals – just as people with satellite TV don’t call the the dish bolted to the side of their house a ‘radar’!;)
Well in most Russian literature on the subject I have seen, both in English and Russian it is referred to as a radar.
I believe the R-33 was in fact SARH guided all the way to the target – no little radar in its nose…
The design is SARH, but there certainly is a radar in its nose.
Gracias!
Looking forward to seeing those LEVCONs in action.
So why has the NLCA not flown yet, was rolled out a while ago ?
If that is Shtil, why does the launcher arm seem to be horizontal, not vertical in any sense? Don’t think it is Shtil. Looks way too big.
