    The 11356Ms can be delivered fast, and the navy needs ships.

    Have you seen the Yak-130 line? It is quiet busy. The RuAF is in the middle of receiving the pilot batch, and they have been for months in negotiation with the plant for a larger order of 65 Yak-130s…and this is not the last batch either. Price disagreements have been a problem, but there is no doubt they will settle eventually, the RuAF has no other option simply. The production capability of the line suggest once the contract is signed they will have no problem delivering at least 15-16 aiframes to the RuAF next year. Further, the plane is produced at both Sokol and IAPO.

    For export, Irkut has 30 airframes almost finished for Algeria, 16 will be delivered this year. Seems to me like Yak-130 activity is very busy @ Irkut.

    As for Vikramaditya, well its probably got a life-span of some 25~30 years max.

    Whats the basis of this estimation?
    Conservative IMO.

    The slight difference is the Su-27 does not look like a carbon copy of the F-14. :p

    Same can’t be said of the “indigenous” J-15.

    Regarding NAPO, they are in the middle of critical modernization due to the need to meet Su-34 production demands.

    Mig-29K is ok, but given the choice I’d go with the SU-33 everytime 🙂

    The Chinese seem to be going with an SU-33 like aircraft, so the Indians might not be feeling so great!

    Why? Russia went for MiG-29K over modernizing Su-33, so I am sure India is feeling just fine.

    Second batch of Indian Talwar’s has regular Shtil, no VLS. Still hoping for VLS 50km Shtil on 11356Ms.

    that is a great video. also, it lead me to this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QxfJRHRXi0A#t=12m38s where it said su27k took off from kuznetsov at 170 kph weighing 22 tons. So that is quite useful fact as one can calculate speeds as we know the take off distances, thrust, weight and thus accelleration.

    On another note, there was another clip, i saw it on google videos some years ago, where it was quite evident su33 was carrying between 6 and 8 air to air missiles. It was an old film, color was faded, it was somewhat blurry, but still it was quite clear in what it showed. does anyone have a link for it?

    That vid looks an awfull lot like the one above.

    Wat. RuAF is going to be a large market on itself throughout this decade, and there are already export customers. Irkut is more focused on non-fighter aircraft these days, and I think this trend will not change until past 2020 at earliest.

    EDIT: Sorry for OT. At least its not an OT ragefest though.

    Yep, new Su-34 pilots should be amongst the most active in the RuAF.
