The plan is that a new multirole 5th generation fighter will be entering service sometime in the 2014-2016 timeframe.

    Not sure if serious. 😐

You heard it here people. An Air Force that can barely keep a handful of MiG-29s flying, is looking at PAK-FA.

I was hoping it would have VLS Shtil with first hull…they did mention the 11356Ms would be as streamlined to the 22350 standard as much as possible…maybe 9m96 😮 ?

His calculation shows that the F-35’s APG-81, which allegedly has 1,400 T/R modules, will be able to recognize the Eurofighter or semi-stealth fighter at 120 kilometers or farther based on the assumption both radars have the same capability.

Hmm, interesting. Irbis-E manufacturers claim 90km detection of a .01m2 target, obviously a much lower RCS target than the Typhoon.

Yes but who is to say a 6 per bay missile capability (with smaller weapons like R-77) will not be sought down the line?

VL HHQ16 – a Buk derivative – is confirmed. Why would one assume VL Shtil to be a paper project then?

Well, there was doubt if VLS Shtil was more of a reality than that mockup presented at various military exposes.

Su-33 taking off with AAMs, relatively uncommon photo.

Easily enough room for 3 compressed:

Agreed, but at the same time, if the intention is 4 larger AAMs, then the 3 per bay capability might be a waste of time and money.

Well, gotta give him some credit, he really does love the MiG-29 o.o .

Must say, I don’t really see why the MiG-29M family would be an outrageous aircraft to consider for the Argies, considering some of the other aircraft mentioned in this thead.

Vertical launch being tested for Buk- I think this makes it clear vertical Shtil was not a paper project.

Hopefully not at the expense of anything else, since true 360 view is absolutely useless.

Sorry, but is that realistic ??? … especially in terms of cost !

    Yes, 100%.

PAK-FA has had no funding issues.

    REquest:

Are there ANY photos of the Indian carrier under construction? Satelite or anything else?

How about anything new on Arihant?

Sort of shocking how little info has emerged, at least visually.
