As has been established, the follow on Su-30 deal was clearly not price raising on an individual airframe basis. There was some price raising, no doubt, but that is to be expected. Nothing like doubling though, those reports were politically inspired nonsense.

The prices are always subject to change, and if half of the Indian air force depends on French equipment, then the French can easily raise the prices and the IAF will have no choice but to pay extra. The Russians have been pretty good at doing that. It’s kind of ironic–the very act of choosing the cheaper option could render it no longer the cheaper option.

Sevmash raising prices has very little to do with IAF deals with Russian aviation export products.
