One of the things that always intrigued me about the Mig 29 was its light weight. Is the Mig 35 lighter than the 29? Its take off weight went up 30% but the empty weight went down….Forgive me but this info is from Wikipedia.

The airframe went substantial changes when the MiG-29M iteration was created, materials used in particular. That could explain the weight change.

I hate to ask but:

1.) what is well done about that animation

2.) How do you have any clue that the actual aircrfat (assuming it exists) looks anything like that.

Finally, IAFs MIG-29s have not been through an upgrade yet. Essentially you are talking about future stuff and comapring it to the present day. Its insane.

Actually, the first examples have already been sent to Russia. Within a few years most of the fleet will be upgraded. Not insane, at all.
The Mirage 2000 upgrade does not make it “on par” with a Block 50 F-16 like some of the Indian poster were implying.
Good enough, and combined with MiG-29s, will make the block 50 threat irrelevant, to use your favorite word.

I was under the impression that the Phoenix was not a particularly effective weapon for engaging maneuvering high energy targets, such as the Eagle.

The F-22 can stay outside the S-300/400 engagement range, with SDBs. Remember, the WEZ against a supersonic VLO target is going to be much smaller, than the range against legacy targets.

On the other hand, S-400 batteries protected by Pantsir-S1 will have significant munition deflection capability.

All I can say is, they’ve shown their true colours of what they think of the rest of the world and they’re certainly not my favourite people at the moment. Feel sorry for the genuine Yanks out there.
