The Russian Paint Schemes are ugly and old school. I hope they put some Fine Grey on the T-50 than these stupid blue and yellow colours on Su 35s.

Current order is for 32, according to nike8887 (works at NAPO). He also said that they can even right now make considerably more than 12 airframes a year, the bottleneck is the on-board equipment they receive to install.

I think an EW variant is almost a given, the aircrfat would be perfect for it, though perhaps not in a dedicated role. Plus, it has already been flying with rather large EW pods.

Also, K-50-2 more capable than the Mi-28N? Deeeeebatable. Not to mention Kamov doesn’t even have the Ka-52 completely down in 2010, almost 2011, let alone that mockup that the Erogan was. Can’t compare something that is being actively built, delivered, and perfected, to something that died before ever existing.

At that rate, they’ll have a squadron of them in 3 more years.:cool:

Ehh, the chances of coming back are alright if not good, from what I have read on Russian forums. Certainly far better than the other ships of the class. Right now however there is zero modernization on the way, nor is it funded for the next year or two…crew has been mostly caretaking it, but it would appear engine is being worked on, as well as other critical hull components. I don’t think the hull has been deteriorating like say the Lazarev.

Anyways hopefully the modernization doesn’t go the Kulakov route.

No I do not think it will be that bad. But come next decade India (not just IAF) may have in its inventory.

Formidable yeah. But in my opinion, having Su-30, AND Rafale AND SH or Typhoon is absurd and senseless. From both a capability overlap, price for buying separate aircrfat (economics of scale don’t play in as with single or even two types), supply lines, spare support and maintenance when actually in service…all of that would be needlessly complicated.

I feel the same about F-35 and T-50, jus’t don’t see that happening.
