You may have a point – it’s very ageist, but possibly valid, lol! 😉
Geoff. I assume your judgemental remarks are aimed at me. I simply asked two questions. The material does not offend me. I cannot understand how the matter has been in any way politicised. I agree that some of the material is thought provoking. The site appears to be primarily involved with flogging t-shirts and mugs as an homage particularly to soldiers. It looks though to be a purely commercial site – I couldn’t find any mention of it being linked with or benefitting good causes. But I could be wrong, so sought clarification.
Tony the site you have provided a link to in your first post has nothing to do with parts nor does it have eBay links – it’s a site just selling t-shirts, mugs etc that also provides some prayers and articles about soldiers etc. Did you perhaps intend to post a different link?
Isn’t it just a commercial enterprise?
I can see the Daily Fail headline if they pick up on this “Pilotless airliner scare near London” 😮
Andy and Robbo,
Many thanks for the added details.
Tim
This DC-3 has been in Germany for at least a couple of years and flew there from South Africa. It has been reported as due to return to Germany after its air show appearances in Ireland.
It would be good then if you could clarify what aspects are incorrect. I am not in a position to verify or challenge the reporting, I merely flagged up the source because of the illustration of the one allegedly “preserved” in India. What is the situation with that and what was misreported?
The following report by an Indian source in 2008 illustrates the one displayed in India and also mentions two further examples at the location.

Definitely a Scion.
I attended Farnborough that year, but have no recollection of either. I have found the following website, concerning a different but related project, which offers some historical details about the power concept including illustrations of the two types you mention, so may be of interest: http://www.tecaeromex.com/ingles/RH-i.htm
Thanks for the clarification, but I didn’t say that “The Shark” specifically replaced “BE”, merely that it was one of the 3x P-51s used after they had to forego the inclusion of “BE”.
It was one of the 3x P-51s utilised by “The Horsemen Flight Team” during the Sunday of the “Legends” event at Duxford, after they had to forego the use of “Berlin Express” due to its canopy damage.
Is that an eye test from SpecSavers? 🙂
I agree with your comment about the effect of the offset axis at Duxford, but let’s be fair, that display was interrupted by an incursion into their airspace by someone not respecting the NOTAM.
