    PC World

Asked floorwalker for Video capture device for a PC, after a lot of head scratching led me to an isle selling Camcorders. No, I say, ‘a Video capture device’ you plug into the rear of the computer, then attach the camcorder, then you download video and turn it in to a digital format. He stood perfectly still for a moment gazing up at the ceiling……nope, no idea. Then, in a eureka moment led me to another isle where there were lots of boxes with pictures of camcorders and recording/editing suites etc. Which is the most popular? I ask.
This one! he says, holding up a box (with £59.99 in the corner) Great, I race off home (30 mile round trip)

Bearing in mind my dissapointment with the CAP20 I eagerly opened this box (quite a big box I might add) to find……a much smaller DVD box and nothing else, no capture device……nothing……..

    How hard can this be??

Ah well, off to PC World again……….

Bought a CAP20 video capture card, spent 18 hours trying to get it to run.

Finally googled problem page which said something on the lines “you were done, throw it in the bin”

    Ah well, project binned.

    🙁

Supanet, after dumbing down my internet connection to a point where checking emails is akin to wading through treacle.

    I’m not the only one.

    ………..perhaps it hasn’t.

I’ve learnt more off this thread than in the press, I think it still has some mileage in it.
