Lucky to remain upright and no fire.
Looks like fuel escaping in the last photo.

Perhaps a trip ” Down-Under ” is warranted ? 😀 My trip was ” AWESOME ” :diablo: Check out, http://www.mustangflights.com/ 25 minutes spent doing aerobatics and shooting up the local beaches, all for A$1500. Geriatric Jet Jockey 🙂
If its not a Spitfire, its only a plane:diablo:
ahhh the ACME thunderer, mine had good use till just recently, as a cliffman in the Coastguard, it was used when the radio failed (as a back-up).

Very nice………got a hot flush looking at it.:o
Unknown Blenheim down in France
The damaged port elevator and rudder were separately reproduced and put on for the after combat filming, however, the bullet holes and other damage were cgi.

The bit of BoB film where the Spit crashed on the Beach looked very realistic. Was that a real crash or a very clever mock-up with a model ?
Quite enjoyed the programme really.
IIRC an article around 1969 said that particular model should have plonked into the sea but, glided further than anticipated with spectacular results.
Do you find that the washable paint comes off easily or does rain take it off?
Robert
I think if I had washed it off immediately it would have been easy, however, I left it on too long and it has now baked on with the sun.
A new paint job for 2011:rolleyes:

After a bit of digging around, Ed Rae was a rear gunner on Halifax shot down, made POW, so I guess was presented(?) by Squadron on repatriation.
Passed away 1999

about halfway down.
Would the Germans allow casting to take place in a POW camp?
Another report suggests 1940hrs
Hello
I thought the BBMF Spitfire P7350, was to be used for some of the filming as It wears Geoffrey Wellum’s 92 Sqd Battle of Britain codes? for this season.
No, my Spitfire also had 92 Squadron markings, however, they were painted out and AI-H was applied to assist continuety from the outtakes of the Battle of Britain film sequences used.

Do read the story again. It happened at 1900hrs and was “getting dark”. It’s still pretty much daylight at 7pm here in East Anglia.
Sorry, didn’t read it at all.
On the video at 00.26, “……we had our lights on and were a big target………..”
00.45, “….at anchor off Deal in the dark………..”
00.55, “…..if no one had seen him ditch…..”(due darkness)
it also said 1900 ish, poor reporting, they didn’t know the exact time he ditched.
Soooooo, what was he doing tooling around in the dark then……
