Thankyou for a fascinating account of one of my favourite actors, I sat and watched him only the other day (the man who shot Liberty Valence) and have the utmost respect for his history and his endearing manner.
I remember him on Parkinson in the 70s and would love to see that again.

I wonder why this forum got the offhand remarks on the original post?
Al, I wouldn’t get too twisted up about that, it has to be said, it was one of the greatest one liners I ever seen.
If I wasn’t a fan of the BBMF before…………..I am now!
Bring it on Stormin’!
Thinking out of the Box, has anyone considered Duxfords Avro York as a possible source??
It seems such a small bit to ground her, maybe most of these airframes have been robbed already. I guess S-Sugar has donated many spares in her life and at a guess the BBMF have gone down this route (and many more, home and abroad) The Avro York is a closer relation with it’s Lancaster wing than the Shack. We just don’t know what’s been done in the past to keep PA474 flying.
I guess that the guys from the BBMF are searching many sources this morning and the Shackleton here may be the last resort.

Dunno, took an email last night, they seem interested in the Shack St Mawgan.
Anyway, I’m up booted and spurred awaiting a call.:)
Tony said at the end of episode 3 that they detonate a charge the equivilant of a V2 in the next show saying it’s the biggest explosion in Britain since the war.
Does he not remember Buncefield???? Noway a single V2 would make a bigger bang :p
I don’t think they exploded the full amount due to atmospherics, they halved the amount then moved it closer to the buildings.
they are chain driven
To keep you guys informed the boss of CAS informed me the corrosion on the engine panels is quite severe and maybe impossible to remove without damage.
We will meet up 0900 and have a look.
Fluffy will contact BBMF in morning and make sure we are all singing from the same hymn book.
we’ll go from there
Ben, if the old girl is up on bricks in the morning I know where to look!:D
Phones red hot!!
Fluffy you need to call me on 0759*********
Baz
Fluffy, is it a go?
I ‘ve contacted the guardroom and have permission to investigate, I’m now waiting for a member of the CAS so we can draw the keys.
Right, fluffy is this the same on the Shack as on the Lanc?
Any special tools to take it off?
Any backup if successful, on transport?
Baz
Stormin’
I’m quite willing to go and have a look at the St Mawgan Shackleton now and in daylight, you need to contact me sooner rather than later so I can get a team together etc
Baz
my quess is that they’re after a fuel c0ck lol, without spurring any further idle chitchat, have you perchance spoken to the chaps at east kirkby?
Im wondering if a shackleton fuel c0ck is similar at all?
And if you don’t want to talk to anybody, you still own 4 fuel stopc0cks in the Shack on the gate at St Mawgan (if Bens hunch is correct) which is only a mile away from me.
