My ‘old’ cat routinely chased away a fox, I don’t think they are a problem with cats, now black sacks on the other hand!
Whilst she has cubs, pick up sme cheap dog food and put it near the house.
This will stop her foraging all the dustbins and give you a great view of her.
My old cat passed away years ago and the local fox is back nearby, I have to admit to stop her ripping my bin bags I do sometimes give her a tin of cat food.
they don’t hunt cats, but they will take on a rat, more usually voles and mice.
The cat I have now has no interest in the fox so there is a status quo
cheers

I can see at least two problems – a lot of people are unhappy to share their research and there is always a risk of copyright infringement by others ‘stealing’ the work, but I for one would be happy to take that gamble – I think it’s more important to get new or little-known information out in the public domain rather than gathering dust in someones ‘I’ve got but you aint having’ files.
I have stuff that would fit the bill, perhaps when uploaded they could be catagorised into groups:
a. Not for further transmission (period)
b.seek permission from copyright holder before use
c.permission not needed
Even down to rare photos, etc
Great idea, can see the potential

Didn’t know they did jets.
I vaguely remember a Hurricane and a red nosed Bf109.

“Dive Bomber – Learning to fly the Navy’s fighting planes”, by Robert Winston. First published in 1939.
I’m quite a bit older than most of you – a 1931 model. But up in Alaska back then you traveled by boat or seaplane. Seaplanes were okay; we even got to see the Boeing 314 once, but fighters – I wanted to fly them after getting this book and By God I did!
FWIW I found a reprint and got it about 3 weeks ago; it still gives me a kick to read it again after all those years.

We’ve all waited the last couple of hours…….what did you fly!!

Cpl O’mara was my DI as well !!… along with Sgt Dalgleish.
Here’s a pic of us on our Pass out parade, snapped by my Dad. Sorry, but the quality is not brilliant. It was a lovely sunny, but bl**dy cold November morning. We had a Nimrod as our Flypast, a bit spooky really as I ended up at St Mawgan for many years……happy days
Note the Canberra airframe on static display in the background far right of the photo. I also remember other airframes stored in some of the drill hangers. A Swift was one of them and a piston Provost also I think. Memory fading these days, wish I had taken Photo’s.
Are you tick-tocking!…………just kidding!:D
Schumacher is to replace him! OMG!
It’s like a Sly Stallone movie
“Do ve get to vin zis time”

passing out!
I remember the passing out parade. Summer 1974
If you recall, all the familes and dignitaries were under cover facing out over the parade square and we were stood to attention listening to the AOC giving the speech.
Several miles in the distance on this sunny day I noticed a Vulcan orbitting at about 3-4,000ft, with great timing, as straight as an arrow, headed towards the parade whilst descending. All the Airmen on parade could see it coming and a gentle murmer began, at 1/2 mile we lost sight of our flypast below the top of the buildings and as he was throttled back no-one heard him coming, it was a delicious moment, one to be savoured for years.
He opened the throttles just a 100yds short of the square at about 200′ so the roar of the engines coincided with the shadow passing over the crowd from behind. The Vulcan then pulled up into (I can only assume as I didn’t look) a vertical climb.
Utter pandemonium!!!
Screams..hats flying…people diving for cover…kids crying…:diablo:
Brilliant, utterly brilliant:D
To this very day I still imagine those two pilots as naughty boys, egging each other on.
The only fond memory of the place.
cheers
