Yes, one at Alconbury, blown up by the SAS as an experiment – photos on this thread on AiX.

    Cheers

    Vandals! I’m glad they’re on our side!

I can imagine the Officer in charge “Your only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!”

No wonder they ‘saved’ them for nation! I think it’s the other way round.

Have any in the country ever been demolished?

Even similar one’s in Iraq hit by a 2,000lb bomb were only damaged (as a structure)

Yep, it’s F34 FSII , I’d be suprised if it’s all been nicked, more likely been lost in cross bulks poorly calculated, drain offs & hose flushing.

First port of call for the fuzz would be near by pikey encampments

….you saying pikeys are using Harriers now……….

It’s either heading towards you or going away from you;)
    Agree with the sentiment though:)

On a compass you can head (heading) away, chox is right;)

Just a bit more, this was a H.F. IX and the engine panels were unpainted so maybe a prototype(?) Do high flyers have a different grade of engine oil to combat the rigors of extreme altitude?

I had another go at the highest resolution (without crashing the computer:rolleyes:)

and I put on the original picture.

I am slowly preparing my 2010 exhibition (trailer and Spitfire) and already thinking to remove and maybe scrap 2 instrument panels and several wwII instruments. I cannot afford to be jumped on by an over zealous H&S person when I pitch up at an event throughout the year. Sadly it comes to this as it is only a matter of time when it’s ‘one of us’ in the dock for the same type of offence.

Meanwhile I shall continue to take my geiger counter to the aerojumbles and Cockpitfest and annoy you all by pointing out how hot some of your bits and pieces are!

We need to know what is and what isn’t acceptable, it appears to be a secret to the knowledgeable on this forum as this question has been asked on other threads and avoided.

You need to go back to my reply ( post 53) in this thread re; your rant at me.

You did not mention then how you would have treated these blades, etc

Please don’t insult peoples intelligence here, you obtain/buy then sell aviation items for profit?

I buy/obtain items for the public to see (free).

    The header for post 53

    A man’s passion under attack

that still stands, please…………no more snide comments.
