Just as a matter of interest, I noticed there is no lack of ‘Jim ll fix it’ memorabilia on ebay. Currently £100 for a jim fixed it for me badge. Over 500+ items.

Going back in time.
28th December 1943.
PB4-Y 32038 FAW-7 took off at 2am from RAF St Mawgan bound for the USA.
Shortly after becoming airborne, the starboard outer propeller ‘feathered’ causing undemanded yaw and roll. In trying to recover the aircraft, control was lost and she crashed at the base of the cliffs at Watergate Bay. All 13 POB were killed and a further 5 American Marines perished in the rescue attempt.
This aircraft was considered ‘war weary’ and had been replaced by a newer machine.
