This is not a good move, it leaves the door open for terrorists now able to plan an exact meeting, place and time, on their terms, by staging an accident in a remote spot.

Any advert that includes blue fluid, when I’m trying to eat my tea.
    and
Tampax adverts, when I’m trying to eat my tea.

Any advert that has a toilet that needs cleaning, when I’m trying to eat my tea.

All money loan shark adverts with 1,940% APR shown all day (not that I watch tv all day).

    PPI claim adverts.

    Accident and sue people adverts.

    Nearly dead? adverts with Parkinson.

    Car insurance adverts.

Any adverts that uses drug addicts to market their products. (..to get that Rimmel London look)

Adverts that ‘over sell’ the item, checkout the size of a Twix on tv to the one that you buy from a shop.

    Pretty much all adverts really………

aaah….if you click on the RC thread:

    http://forum.keypublishing.com/showthread.php?131564-Some-of-my-recent-builds

you can ‘rate this thread’, however, its the only thread I can rate.

Mods, perhaps it can be switched back on for all of us to abuse?

    cheers

Can’t see that anymore Pete, think it vanished after an update or something.

    Found this on FAQ :

Key Publishing Ltd Aviation Forums FAQ

Here you can find answers to questions about how the board works. Use the links or search box below to find your way around.

You may find a small menu on thread pages which allows you to ‘rate this thread’ with a number between 1-5.

Casting a vote for threads you view is entirely optional, but if you think that the thread is superb, you might rate it as a 5-star thread, or if you think that it’s unspeakably dismal, you might choose to rate the thread with a single star.

Once enough votes have been cast for the thread rating, you may see a set of stars appear with the title of the thread in the thread listings. These stars reflect the average vote cast, and can allow you to quickly see which threads are worth reading if you are on a very busy forum with a lot of threads.
    Rating Threads

    What are ratings?

The forums allow you to rate threads between 1 star (terrible) and 5 stars (excellent). Once enough votes are cast for a thread, stars will appear next to its name in the listings. These show the average vote, and can be an easy way to see which threads are worth reading if you are on a busy forum.

On the forum viewing page you can also arrange threads by rating, with either the highest or lowest at the top.

It therefore makes sense to rate threads because it helps all users. To do this, click on the ‘rate thread’ link at the top of the thread viewing page. Choose the number of stars you feel best represents the quality of the thread. You may or may not be able to change your choice of rating at a later date.

However the ‘rate this thread’ does not appear on my page (or I guess on anybodys but maybe a select few?)

I suppose if yours works Peter, we could all contact you and ask to add stars to our favourite threads!

    cheers

Only a few can vote, the 1 star was Peter (in Canada) back in post 15.
So I guess if you are in Canada, you can vote.

If it gets reactivated, it will appear below the thread title, right hand side.

    Sorry Charlie.

I felt this thread needed to be in general discussion, so as not to be lost in the ether.

This thread is serving a purpose and if MoggyC can get the rating stars ‘switched’ back on, it means that we can all vote on threads we like (or dislike).
At the moment it is only partially working and does not show all our views honestly (or fairly).

It would represent how we all feel a (any) particular thread is either popular or not.

As you seem to be so upset with this thread, I will ask the mods to lock it on Tuesday, after informing us what the Gods response is.

You may even be able to vote it 1 star (terrible) on Tuesday afternoon.

    cheers

But if the forum enjoys it’s presence here or anywhere else my lone voice is of little significance.

    Charlie

You’re slightly missing the point, this thread is not really about the Burma thread or aviation, I could have chosen around 15 other different threads with stars on. I chose the Burma thread as it is a high profile subject that has a star rating, that for the likes of me I couldn’t understand how or why. The actual contents of the thread are not being discussed on here (as in Historic), just the thread as a whole. I would have thought you (of all people) would have liked to show an opinion by voting up (or down) a thread of interest.

Hope you are feeling much better

Thank you, but not really, way to go yet.

    Cheers
