LBARules, you really are my worst critic arent you? Are you my mother?
I hope they would bring to public attention anything which was done underhand. What became of the toilet-sitting stewardess? Are tests being done to see if she had a brain?
And the reason for ticket on departure charges? You lot maon at me for off-topic comments and you are always coming out with them!
Children learn a great deal about geography, history and other peoples cultures by taking holidays abroad. The tour ops have been ripping families off for years charging them top price for holidays out of term-time, even October half-term or Feb half-term!
For some families this made the difference between having a holiday or not. If the goverment is going to take tough action against parents taking their kids off during school time, lets hope they make the greedy tour ops reduce their prices !
Flew Air Atlants (AIA) twice. Once on a 707 in 85 from MAN-FAO and once on a 732 MAN-FNC!
Skymonster, I agree with everything in your post. Swiss is a rip-off and I would pay for the proper ‘economy’ service but cant afford business class!
I remembered another Spanish airline I been on, Canafrica! MD83
Good one! Thanks, I will while a few hours away on that site!
No, I am not that aincient! I did once fly on a Spantax 737-2, wish it had been a Coronado though!
Good question and good topic. IB service levels have diminished in recent years and like you point out, their service is already no-frills. Good luck to Vueling, as IB have had it their way for too long.
A scheduled carrier like IB used to stand for a certain quality, nowadays they are just like EasyJet and the like, except for the fares!.
ABTA the governing body for tour operators as well as travel agents, should be more effective. It should keep tighter controls on tour operators and ensure that poor people like this are protected. Not just their money but their holidays too. Surely ABTA were aware of the poor financial state of the touroperator yet allowed them to still sell holidays to an unsuspecting public up until they went bust!
Glad I wasnt one of the passengers turned away. I would have been hopping mad and gunning for someones blood!
At least you get some sustenance and free! If that was BY or TCX youd get nothing. Or you could buy a little tub of Pringles for £2. Give me AEA and their free sarnies anyday!
Good luck then, its nearly 15 years since I sat mine. Do you still have to learn TPMs and MCOs? Anyway, all the best! Hope they prove more useful to you that they did to me. I have never once filled in a blank IATA ticket since those exams!
They are, in fact, much better than your average British charter carrier. Your parents shouldnt have any worries. They are well-established and used to be part of the ILG group. They are a quality carrier, and unlike on British charters, your parents should get a free hot meal.
