I wouldnt want anything to do with a low-cost airline and I dont say that eliminating food and drink doesnt help profitability but just that I would rather they gave a good service instaead of trying to fly everyone for next to nothing.

Also Yeadon is a joke, with that runway at high altitude and extortionate BMI fares monopoly!

I hope Rod Eddington recieved the same daily rate of pay as the check-in staff when he helped out recently!

I know about as much as you probably do! Who the eck (Good Yorshire word for you LBA) are you Sir Freddie Laker.

I dont like Flybe. I did however, like Jersey European who were a quality airline offering good connections from various departure points to my favourite place in the whole world, ickle Jersey!

A message for Jim French and FlyBe. Go back to calling your airline Jersey European, re-introduce meals and complimentary tea/coffee and stop trying to compete with the likes of Ryanair.

Love your Q400s though Mr French, they are gorgeous!

Im sad to hear that Easyjet are launching services to the Baltic States. The national carriers of these countries were rather hoping that their entry into the EU would facilitate growth.

These airlines will now find it hard to compete against a carrier like Easyjet.

As for BA, there are still many passengers like myself who want to fly a full-service airline so I see no great worrries for them.

I would recommend not going at all! Parts of the Caribbean are like some of the high-rise resorts of Spain, only not as much fun.

It cost my partner a huge amount of money and we could have had a couple of holidays to Egypt or the Canaries for the same price and stayed in comfort. As I said before and to everyone who would listen to me when I got back “never again”

Re the comments TCX, I have no doubt that Thomas Cook Belgium and Condor offer superior comfort and service. This has always been the case with European charter carriers, it is only the British ones who cram 9 abreast into their A330s and 8 abreast into a 767!

For Palma and the like possibly but not long-haul.

Cayo coco was boring in the extreme. Thomas Cook completly misrepresent it in their brochure, selling it as a dream destination with luxurious accommodation.

The all-inclusive 4 star hotel was very poor, much worse than a bog-standard 3 star hotel in the Canaries! And that flight with only one hot meal and a cold breakfast.

Thomas Cook used to stand for quality holidays and now they have moved downmarket with their packages and awful airline. Surely anyone who has had a bad Thomas Cook holiday will be put off from booking another tour ops holidays at a Thomas Cook travel agent, so they will lose business all round!

It was awful, especially on the return overnight flight. No matter how you tried it was impossible to get even 10 minutes sleep. It was pure torture, “never again” was all I said for the last 3 hours of that flight! Its put me right off long haul. 7 hours to Senegal or the Gambia is my limit in search of winter sunshine.

One a week from Manchester, we travelled on a Sunday. My partner thought it would be a dream holiday for us but there is nothing to do and a 4 star hotel isnt comparable to a 4 star hotel in Europe, thats for sure!

He tried to book the premium cabin but it was full, the 9 abreast configuration stinks. We fle via Holguin on the return sector, I recall.

My partner took me to Cayo Coco in January! What a dissapointment! I was bored stiff, the infrastructure is not what modern toursits expect these days. I spoke to lots of disgruntled guests and Thomas Cook, well despite being desperate to get home at any price, I would rather have gone back on an old Cubana Il62 than those cramped A330s of Thomas Cook.

I was glad recently to hear that First Choice are improving the seat pitch on its long-haul aircraft. European charter airlines have operated 8 abreast A330s on long haul for years yet Thomas Cook and Monarch cram 9 abreast and on long flights its just not acceptable!!!

The 737-800 wouldnt work well for BY from many regional airports as its such a runway muncher when compared to the 737-200 they operated years ago, which had excellant field performance and was able to get into all the regional airports with no penalties! Me thinks, it would have a noise penalty nowadays, even if not payload penalties! They were very, very noisy. I recall landings on BY 737-2s at Funchal and Gibraltar.

BA are building on the hard work done by AirEurope and DanAir in building a scheduled network from LGW

I saw lots of Avro RJs at LGW and would have loved to have been on one of those instead of the 737
