Hopefully not and they will stick to what they are best at, offering two class services, decent seat pitch, complimentary beverages and meals/snacks. I like a free Telegraph too!
I am no photograher but they look good to me, far better than I could do! I dont like Stansted though, its the design, its like a giant greenhouse. I am not a fan of modern architecture or Ryanair for that matter. Stanstead has too many low fares carriers and is too reliant upon them. Quality is better than quantity STN.
Excuse me, Easyjet are firmy no-frills, they are not mainline. They make you pay for a cup of coffee, they dont serve a meal even on a run to Athens and their cabin staff wear orange t-shirts!
I was quite suprised at some of the destinations chosen by Snowflake such as Belgrade and Sarajevo, but I understood these to be some of the busiest in the network, which I find quite suprising.
An impressive network in Africa from BCal. These African routes were amongst the most profitable as well. It was the short haul routes that were loss-making.
I did note the light frequencies, but tourism in Senegal and the Gambia was in its infancy in those days and has developed much more now, so I think BA would be able to operate a twice weekly frequency to Dakar, Banjul and Freetown possibly with A320 or 757, which has the range and mid-capacity for these routes.
Yes, there was only three and my tummy was rumbling, I did get a chunky kitkat though. What has it come to!
If I want to attract the attention of a cabin crew member on Ryanair, do I press the call button or knock on the lavatory door?
Oh no. What would I expect then on a typicsl UK to Dublin sector. Not even a free tea and biscuits?
This is getting silly, If I want to go to Ireland and dont want no-frills, I dont have much choice! What with Ryanair and now Aer Lingus and BD giving their EMA-DUB route to WW.
If people want no-frills, let them have it. But what about me and countless others who demand a proper ‘cabin service’ where is our choice, surely I wouldnt be expected to go from up North down to LHR to go over to Dublin, its ridiculous!
The previous post illustartes my point, that Africa is not high on the agenda at Britsh Airways. Downgrading the Lusaka flight to a 763 is ridiculous. It wasnt long ago BA were operating 742 and the then Zambia Airways were operateing DC10s. Now there is only BA and every flight is booked solid. Despite this they put what for BA, is their third rate long haul equipment on the route.
Flights to Lilongwe have stopped altogether, so I suppose Zambia should consider itself lucky to be one of the ever dwindling number of African destinations for BA.
Oh yes, Robin Hood Doncaster Sheffield Airport. Not too many maid Marions in Doncaster I can tell you! Seriously, that name is very misleading Robin Hood is associated with Sherwood Forest and Nottingham not Doncaster!
Where do the passengers ‘wait’ the airport is about as big as my garden shed.
How much is Thomsonfly being paid by Coventry to mount operations from this heliport?
Oh no, are they still at Coventry? what happened to the NIMBYs? I hate Thomsonfly, why dont Britannia go back to being a first-rate IT carrier and stop trying to muscle in on the no-frills sector.
Maybe BY should have kept a few of those very noisy, aged 737-2s and wheeled them out with for ThomsonFly, its all this silly carrier is worth.
Your all so young!
I feel like Methusela, everyone on here seems so young, saying their first flight was on a 757! My first was on a BA Trident MAN_LHR 1979 aged 5, we have a picture of me in my dads arms walking down the steps.
Yes they do and are proud of it. Cabo Verde, Maputo, Luanda and a rich network to Brazil, Rio, Sao Paolo, Recife, Salvador.
I know that BA would face many constraints in Africa, particularly at places like Freetown which has security issues and poor infastructure, also I think part of the reason BA ignores such destinations is they arent particularly fashionable or trendy.
