Well I enjoyed it and thank you Andy for the background gen that you put in, just read your post. Incidentally I thought it was an engine frame mounting bolt that Guy drilled to take a split pin and not a spar bolt as someone had mentioned in a previous post.
Well they never came too Airframe Assemblies to do any filming when we were doing the fuselage, so they wont be showing the whole restoration !!

Well at least your company got the credit for building the fuselage, I heard early on in the programme, not by name admittedly but by location.:)
Blurb about the programme seems to imply he did the re-building.
Didn’t he ? 🙂
Thanks dylan9391 for posting the pictures of your project. I see in the 3rd one that there’s an interesting bit of reading material on the trailer.
Is that your project aeroplane behind the propellors? It looks very good indeed. I’ve nearly finished one Spitfire and about to start on my second a Mk16
Any chance you can post some pictures on here for us to see please?
mmitch I think it’s N3200, someone else will only point it out.
Jean Delemontez (of Jodel fame). Seem to recall he used to fly into the PFA Rally in the 1990s… Not sure if Edouard Joly (the Jo of Jodel) was a pilot.
Yes as far as I know they both flew, but I didn’t realise Jean Delmontez flew into the PFA Rallies though. I remember Volker Teske (probably spelt it all wrong) the German guy doing fantastic displays in his Jodel D120:).
Yes I thought that the Finnish markings were superb. Was Clive Davidson the pilot for the occasion? If he was congratulations Clive.
Well hope it all goes well G-ORDY. Cheers
Fantastic news. Good luck Gordy, are you doing it alone? I’ll eagerly await it’s arrival. I think that this subject is well overdue.
That’s good I’ll look out for it, Thanks
Nah there won’t be anyone on here interested in that.:)
So is this official then as neither Flypast nor Aeroplane mention it on their facebook pages ?, not that that means anything.
A scan of it may help Melvyn
Got mine the other week but only just started reading it, so far it’s very good. i’ve always liked this particular Spitfire since it made the news when it flew in 1980, it’s good to read in detail about it. Thanks again for the post Mark12
