At the 2004 Legends there was a little boy about 5/6 who kept following my dad about! who would want to that i dont know 😀 anyways half way through the show the lad had become bored so he started putting his hand infront of my dads camera. my dad gave up taking the photos and me and him have agreed to sit elsewhere at other displays now.

So Stewart, were you bored at Legends last year?
If you were we’ve more in common than I realised.

Thanks for all your good wishes. 🙂

I won’t make OW unfortunately (I’m heading West in the morning as I’ve been called away on a short-notice trip for work).

I’ll be back for Legends, so will see you all then (except for Mr Andy in Beds, who will be attending the Dunstable Downs International Air Fair that weekend)!

    Yep,
I’m all aeroplaned out at the moment after my recent travels.
Dunstable Downs beckons for a nice rest and a walk.

Have a great day and open a nice expensive bottle of red mate–you deserve it.
Hope the work commitments ain’t too onerous.
    See you soon.

I spent yesterday in the hangar of a certain Sea Fury pilot and owner.
Out of the three aircraft available two are out of action at present.
The T-6 is having it’s attach angles AD completed and the Sea Fury is being prepared for Reno in September.
The people that think that it’d be simple to restore this aircraft or that aircraft should come and have a look at this little lot being carried out.

    Cheers

    A small island near France??
    That’s here isn’t it?

    German car?
    Mike J banned from Legends?–but he’s a stalwart.

I’ll think of you all while I’m at the garden centre.

    Don’t pick on Spotters.

    We’ve got Greece for that.

    James,
I’ve got a better idea for a hobby.
Collecting the numbers on English bank-notes.
After all, they’re all unique and fall into broad easily recognisable groupings.
It’s easy too, you can stay at home to do it, apart from short trips to the local ATM machine to get some more. Then weekly (or fortnightly) one can go further afield to Sainsbury’s where there are more ATM’s with a wider choice of banknotes.

I did it as a hobby for years–still do sometimes.

Did you know the same ten pound note passed through Dunstable three times in 2003?
Serial no EL53 864179 it was.

    Flanker Man.
You don’t need to go to Moscow to see that.
you need only to go to Popham to where our man Melv has his Cloudmeister, he has spotters come in and he says “you can take the reg if you can tell me what it is”.
    Often they haven’t a clue.
These people must be retarded in some way.

    Hiscock,
I’m always rude to you when I turn up at your hangar.
    It’s a tradition.

Well, I got as far as working out the serial should have been on a Battle.
It’s amazing what can be found in the archives of these Government quangoes. 🙂 😉 🙂

Our section on Japanase floatplanes is out of bound to engineers under senior grade though.

    Neil,
it was good to see you and The ‘O’ man last night and all the other rogues, vagabonds and vagrants that populate Old warden on a flying evening that I know.

The Shuttleworth Collection staged an excellent little Eisteddfod for our delectation I thought.

    Thank you everyone.

    Cheers

They are/were not big enough, they were barely big enough for the F-4. Now if one of you technical reasons is to cut the thing into quarters and make it wider and longer then fine. Most of us prefer to be realistic.

Hence the double extending nose-wheel leg on RN Phantoms.

they have an accident history over the past 5 years that makes the lightnings service history shine!

That might be the case but when two people have been killed, don’t you think it’s a bit innapropriate to start discussing air-worthiness.
I think the word that might spring to most peoples mind is ‘sensitivity’.

Or am I just old fashioned?

Yes,it’s pretty poor, but surely there will be increased coverage when the aircraft actually gets airborne? You can follow the flight on my link(I think!).

National Geographic should be running a live video stream.
It’s shown as a link on the NG website but isn’t live yet.

I intend to stay up and watch as much as I can.
Sadly as it’s not British, the media here chose to ignore it.
