Think how lucky you all are that you can tell the difference between these words with ease and how easy it is for you to write the English language. It may take you but a few seconds to dash off a witty response to a post and you do so without a second thought.

Please spare a thought for those who may have English as their first language but who, for one reason or another struggle with it in the written form. It’s probably taken them long enough to pluck up the courage to post something publicly.

For those who post here that don’t have English as their first language I take my hat off to you and commend you for your use of the language.

It’s all about communication. This is a public forum, so long as we can understand one another I don’t see what the big deal is.

To be quite honest, I have been involved in the historic aviation industry, be it – Restoration, maintenance, operation etc for 20 odd years. I dont push my self forward or crave recognition. On the other hand, if people see me working on the aeroplanes and want to have a look or ask a question I will speak or show them what they want to see. If they want to know my name I tell them. A lot of you may know me, I don’t know, I’m not really that bothered. But I will say, there are many more worthy people in the industry than me. But if you ask us, you will probably be told its just a job, its what we do.
Please lets not ruin another thread by bickering and arguing.

Yes, I tend to agree that Mark’s India thread is good stuff.
However, I was saddened that a number of our little congregation seemed to find amusement in criticising the finish on a number of the museum exhibits(references to Dulux etc), which I think are not really either relevant or needed.
I suppose we could just scrap them because they don’t meet our apparent high standards–racial snobbery?? Never!
