The law is wrong because it removes my right to make an intelligent sensible decision based on my evaluation of the risk, when squared off against the potential benefits.
I’ve already covered this – whether that is a good enough reason for you I cannot say – but you nor anyone else, should have the right to make decisions on my behalf, when there might be a good reason for my making a contrary decision to what might seem sensible. If I want to make the decision to do something that can’t possibly damage anyone other than me physically, then that should remain my decision until such time as I am incapable of making decisions for myself.
    Surely, this is common sense!

That’s a crock Rob and we both know it.
If we were allowed to do anything we liked we’d have anarchy.
    I might enjoy snorting Cocaine.
My opinion might be that I know better than Doctors that it’s harmless.
When it makes me ill I use up resources that could be used elsewhere.
So my freedom as an individual is more important than the common good–is it?
The thing is, although we often (all of us) like to think we know more than the experts we often don’t.

That’s why laws are made very often to protect us from ourselves.

As far as Health and safety law goes. It was often introduced in the face of fierce resistance from employers to protect workers in workplaces where death and injury were a common occurence.
Do doubt the people back then knew better too.
Many of us who have worked in industry are probably in one piece today because of the Health and Safety at work act.

Of course, no one here is blaming the museums. It is the law that is at fault. Agreed.

    No, not agreed at all.
So far you haven’t given one good reason why the law is wrong–other than you seemingly disagree with it.

I might disagree one day with the law that says it’s illegal to murder someone.
    Doesn’t make me right.

At the start of this thread I might have thought how stupid it is that we’re in this position, now after listening to what one or two others have to say I’m not so sure the law hasn’t got a good point.

Of couse I’m just a old electronics engineer by trade–I know nothing about the finer points of radiation control.
You might be an expert on the subject.
If you are then perhaps you know way more than the rest of us and have valid techncal input.
    Thanks

Might sound conceited but I’ve got no regrets about anything I’ve ever done.
So I wouldn’t want to be anyone else.

Was there ever made any kits of the other Comets, or decals for all of them?

    T J

    TJ
there was a 1/48th resin kit (very expensive) around about ten years ago.
Very rare now and I don’t know what decals it had, if any.
I’d like to get the little Frog kit as I know it had Black Magic as the decals. It might have had the RAF impressed one too.
I haven’t seen that kit in about 35 years though.
The Airfix one is so old as to be useless.

With the Czechmaster DC-2 and the Williams Bros Boeing 247 one could make a nice little display–if I could find the Frog kit.

I’m sure Mrs PB will cope with both Charles’s son and the other one admirably.

Are you insinuating something here, Moggs?

Now could someone furnish me with the old Frog kit of Black Magic?
Even E-B*y can’t seem to help me on this one.

    I’m willing to pay.

I should think he’s in New Zealand by now.
Left Wednesday evening our time (GMT).

I understand the trip to Popham may well have entertainment value.
