At least I know my left from my right. 😀
Has Melv got thumbs?
Glad you like Winged Victory.
A…
eBay don’t give a stuff – all publicity is good publicity. They’ll only be upset if the seller doesn’t pay his bills.
Yeah, maybe… 😉

that series by Franks and I think published by Grub Street are OK, but they are more of a reference book than a read.
Useful stuff though.

Enquiring Spitfire polishers want to know…:D[/QUOTE]
Personally I say ‘a pox on both their houses’.
However, I’m not so sure this is as legally clear cut as you guys like to make out.
Also, Damien I’m not so sure the masters of E-bay will be so keen on the bad publicity this generates and any impact it might have on future business.
This one will run and run and what I do know is this, some lawyers will pay for their Summer holidays on the proceeds.
Very sad.
Bring on the scrapmen now please.
Cheers

You forgot that we have found a better place than Popham to slag off Forum members, the bar of the Hare and Hounds Old Warden.
Seriously though chaps, dive in and lend a hand at your local museum, its well worth it and great fun.
Yes, you’re right there mate. The after work pint ain’t bad either.
The banter Quotient goes into the red then.
Any more reasons needed to volunteer?

… and so does my kitchen after putting the rags through three boil wash cycles. Stubborn stuff that metal polish.
Probably still better than what your fingers usually smell of…
Usually ruined by the bacon sarnie beforehand and the mahoosive burger for lunch (well it is for me anyway).
Cleaning aircraft, more fun than, well not cleaning aircraft really. (my hands still smell of chrome polish)
Oh and I forgot the charming and erudite conversation over breakfast and lunch. 😉 😉
Always cheers me up.

If you post anymore old Daz will have soiled the carpet (and the walls) by sunrise. 😮 😮 😮
i am who else?
Sadly Stewart after being retired for twelve months I’m now gainfully employed again.
However, I don’t think you’ll be alone.
Hope you enjoy it.
Andy
I wrote this earlier but didn’t post it.
Now I’m tired I’m less tolerant of moaning.
So,
I’m nothing to do with DAS but before you moan, go and volunteer to paint it yourself.
Volunteering is good because:-
a) It helps a worthy organisation.
b) It’s good exercise–better than watching the cr*ppy Sunday afternoon TV.
c) It makes you feel good.
d) you begin to realise what museums are really up against.
e) Sometimes it’s gives you the opportunity to tell some armchair nonce to f*ck off–my favourite bit actually.

More travel advice Melv??
Rise above it mate.
They’re nasty rough secondary school boys.
I won’t be dignifying any of this with a comment.
I can hear him now…
“Spare a scheckel for an old ex-modeller…”
“Did you say EX-modeller”
“That’s right sir, 40 years, man and boy”
“What happened?”
“FlyPast Forum, sir. There I was, a modeller with a trade, and along comes FlyPast; “You’re cured mate”, not so much as a by-your-leave. Bloody do-gooders”
“There’s no pleasing some people”
“That’s just what FlyPast said sir!”I’ll get my coat…
Funny you should say that Mr Young
It happened almost exactly like that.
Now I have very expensive loft insulation.
(in the process of E-baying most of it)
