Well, I don’t often disagree with Mr. Mears (Kev 35) but on this occasion I’m afraid I’m going to.
My own view is that Gina Campbell doesn’t own K7 and therefore her opinion is largely irrelevant.
She may have emotional links to the boat but that’s all, and machines are just that–machines–people aren’t replaceable, machines are.
I’m also a believer in machines being machines and being made to do what they were designed to do.
I’ve never had a problem with reviving something which killed someone–in fact I owned and rode a Suzuki 380 for some years, which before I pulled it out of the back of a dealers store and put it back on the road, had killed the previous owner when he stuffed it under a Morris traveler pick up truck.
I can’t say I ever considered the thoughts of his family, after all, it was mine now.
If it isn’t going to function for what it was designed to do, I might question the need to spend all the time and money on rebuilding it.
I voted to run it–hopefully fast-ish.
And before someone asks, If it was close relation of mine, I’d be happy to see it running.

I’ve just finished watching the complete ‘Akenfield’ on DVD.
I managed to track down a copy in Suffolk, thanks to the internet.
What did I think?
Brilliant is what I thought.
Being from East Anglia myself (Norfolk) so much from my childhood (the modern scenes in the film) was familiar, and having made the decision to leave myself, I had much sympathy for the characters.
A decision I’ve never regretted by the way.

Without diverting this thread too far away from Queen Margaret.
Despite keeping the bike almost constantly on Optimate, the owner still finds that it eats batteries.
The current one has lasted two years.
I think it’s the constant charge/discharge which the alarm causes to the load.
Then the fob wouldn’t put the bl**dy thing on to workshop mode, and it kept resetting every two minutes.
Looking at the wiring harness, it looks like cancer all over it.
Nearly impossible to remove without causing all sorts of upset.

I had one on a Honda VF1100 that I own and I ended up replacing the wiring harness to get rid of it..!!!

Why don’t you do a life coach DVD……all help appreciated
